My wife offered me this trip to NY for my 40th birthday.
Building is in a really nice location (next to Central Park and metro station) and that was one of my wife aim (she made the booking).
I have now to detail a few issue or fact that happenned during our stay :
Noise : this hotel is in Manhattan but even on the 9th floor (where we were), the noise coming from the street is awfull. We had to buy ear plugs to avoid this real issue.
Engeneer : the electricity seems to be from the last century (19th) and we even found an electricity outlet out of the wall. After mentionning it to the front desk, they immediately took care of it. You cannot control the heater, as it is coming for the all hotel ; it's a pity.
Housekeeping : my wife found a watch (maybe from the guest before) and if the room had clearly be done, you couldn't have miss it. Bathroom was cleaned well and we had enough towels for 3 for the all stay.
Bathroom : tiling in the bathroom is the same I saw in my parents flat in the 70'. Service : each time you ask someting to the concierge, you (guest) seems to ennoy him ; they are efficient anyway ; bellboys are always smiling (huge contrast with the front desk) and always say a quick hello when you enter or leave.
Rate : my wife was really disappointed ; she paid a lot of money for this suite and cried all the first night.
Frustrating and disappointing ! This hotel is to be refusbished !

Great location close Central Park, Times Sq, 5th Avenue but Hotel is old and foyer drab. You must have to ask for a big room because our room was quite small, however beds were comfortable. Old aircon very noisy and kept cutting in and out. I agree with Richard P, the tub and sink barely drained which wasnt very pleasant. Reception staff not very helpful or friendly. Wasnt impressed with the paper cups and plastic stirrers and our coffee maker only worked occasionally. Plenty of other hotels in the area to stay at.

Room Tip: Ask for a bigger room

Best place to stop in manhattan. All the sights within easy access. Central Park & 5 th ave within 5 minute walk. Carnegie hall across street, rockafella centre 10 minutes walk. Subway at each corner and an excellent pizza place next door. Supermarket across road and options each way for eating out, but great value breakfast in hotel with a selection of breads, cheese eggs tea coffee juice and pastries to fill anyone.

Room Tip: Location suitable for everything you want. 2 way traffic at front main entrance gives easy access an...

Stayed here Oct 18th-25th. The room was HUGE. I say room but was like mini apartment. Sleeping room had 2 double beds, 2 armchairs, big sideboard with plenty draw space, nice size desk and chair and 32" (or there abouts) TV on wall.

Entry hallway to room had mini kitchenette (microwave, fridge, coffee maker, cupboard, sink) with 2 walk in wardrobes (1 had safe in it)

Bathroom was fair size and nothing wrong with décor. Felt like an actual home. Maybe because of layout or LITTLE bits of wear and tear (small 'dents' in woodwork here and there). Soon as walked in, it felt like an apartment and not hotel 'room'

We was on 15th floor looking over 57th Street (room 1502). You will here the street noise but nothing too dramatic. Air conditioning worked well, not sure if its loud compared to other makes/models as never had experience of window units before.

Room service could not fault and I like the direction of 'just like home'. They change sheets every 3rd day unless request by leaving card on bed and like most hotels, if want fresh towels, place old ones in bath or hang up if want to use again. Anyone complaining of sheet change every 3 days, do you REALLY change your bed sheets EVERY single day?

This Hotel is in great location. Just 10 mins to Times Square, 5-7 mins to Central Park. The room was huge, staff very polite and professional. I would recommend this little hidden gem to anyone.

Only 'complaint' I got is the breakfast. We would of gone if a good old 'English fry' up breakfast was available. Continental breakfast not my thing, but I wont mark these guys down for that as its my personal food taste.

Room Tip: If noise don't disturb you, try get room at front. Nothing beats waking up to sound of New York...

The hotel has a great location near Central Park, Lincoln Center, etc. The staff is friendly and the towels in the bathroom are lush and new. After that, I have little good to say. The hotel is very old and pretty run down. The last renovation of the rooms was probably in the 70's. The bathroom was clean but had a medicine chest and "bar" lights with the global frosted light bulbs. The sink barely drained, the hot water had a "life" of it's own when you showered varying from very hot to mildly hot, and the window air conditioner unit didn't work. The furniture in the room was old and really beat up. They advertised throughout the hotel their new policy stating that they now offered a continental breakfast, in the third floor restaurant, and vouchers would be placed under the doors each day. We received the voucher, but it stated that your room would be charged $10.00 per person for the breakfast. They advertise WIFI, but it is not free. AND we had all of this fun for $376.27 for the night.

Nice and inexpensive hotel near Central Park. No workout area but across the street. Staff were very helpful finding a specific coffee shop in the Park. Easy access to museums. Good location to go running and walking outside. Very close to Carnegie Hall.
