This is by far the best hotel in NYC! We love the large rooms, kitchenette, refrigerator and microwave. The location is right in the heart of Manhattan, on 57th two blocks from Central Park and a short walk to all of the theaters, Radio City Music Hall and the Lincoln Center. The subway is on the corner of 57th and 6th Ave, Carnegie Hall is on the corner of 57th and 7th, the Russian Tea Room is across the street and the Steinway Piano flagship store and museum is two doors down. Love it!

We went in June 2011 but I did not have time to review it till now.In a nutshell,we will go back again. When we arrived we had a nice surprise.Originally we booked a double room for 4 adults but was upgraded to a suite without notifying us and it was spacious and ample for 4 people. Its location is perfect, just a few blocks away from Central park and about 10-15 minutes walk to Times square. There are plenty of eating places round about the hotel since there is no restaurant in the hotel. We ate breakfast daily in the hotel whick was ok(typical American breakfast).
About the hotel,ok it is not the fanciest but it served our purpose.I always believe you get what you paid for. There is no swimming pool, gym room, bar area etc.It is clean and towels are renewed daily,Air conditioning is cool enough but slightly on the noisy side.Water is hot and shower/toilet room is clean.I found internet is on the slow side though there is a sub-charge.One thing is that it is on the main road,we could hear the traffic from about 6-7am.Staff are pretty helpful, and even we asked for extended stay on our check-out day due to my shoulder injury, there was no problem. We left our suite at about4pm that day.We have no complaint at all with Salisbury hotel and wish everyone else to have a nice stay.

7 night stay. This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel - myself, husband and two teenage children. The location is fantastic, size of suite fantastic, housekeeping exceptional! It is dated but I like that. Staff are generally friendly. Breakfast at $6 a head is great value especially when you look at how much it costs elsewhere.
If you want modern and extra hotel facilities (bar, restaurant) don't stay here. If you want value for money can't recommend it highly enough. Recommend purchasing a metro card if you are travelling all over the island. We purchased one each for $29 which lasted 7 days and covered all metro, bus, cable car to Roosevelt Island. An absolute bargain. We even went to Coney Island on the metro which we used this for. You can buy 1 day passes at the hotel and longer need to be purchased elsewhere. Hotel is close to metro and bus stops. Would recommend taking in a Yankees game if you can - a definate experience for us Brits - bizarre but good!

An old fashioned but clean, comfortable hotel. Well located near Central park, Columbus Circle, 2 subway lines and an easy walk to Times Square. Staff unobtrusive but there when you need them (especially the Bell captain). Housekeeping staff were really good.
Suitewas good - living room + bedroom + ensuite bath - comfortable bed and other furniture. We'd go back for sure.

Stayed here at the end of August 2011 and got caught up by Hurricane Irene. First thing to say was that there was no bother at all extending our stay in the same one bedroom suite, this suite was ok for a family of 5 having a double sofa bed in the sitting room. It can be made comfortable with the judcious addition of the extra blankets on top of the mattress.
Excellent mid-town location and helpful staff. Very good value for this area of NYC. Breakfast is cheap but limited so if you want something a bit more interesting go outside but you will pay more. Bathroom was huge, but the loo was also in it which makes it slightly more inconvenient.

Very helpful arranging transport back to JFK.

Stayed here for 1 week of my USA trip.

This places was really loud, the staff at the front desk were not very helpful at all.
The rooms were oldish and the house keeping was not that good at all!

If you can i would avoid this place!!

We had no complaints about the hotel - of course we were only there to sleep!!!
Beds were comfortable - rooms were of adequate size - big closet space - nice small kitchenette area - small but adequate bathroom.
Rooms are "dated" but well maintained.
Breakfast a bit pricey for the selection (mostly pastries and cereal)......but still very tasty.
We would definitely stay here again!!!
