“Beacon is tops”

This was our second Beacon Hotel stay in two years. I usually hate returning to the same place because it's never as good as you remember but that's not true of NY or of the Beacon. This place is a gem and what made it even better was that one of the front desk staff whom I remember fondly, Mary ,was there. She exhibited her great service and humour. Love her. Our room was fantastic, pity the weather wasn't!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great and roomy, fantastic value for NYC

My husband & I stayed for 5 nights with our 2 daughters aged 18 & 15 in April 2014. The location is great right near the subway with an express train to Times Square (42nd st). Staff were friendly & helpful, a supermarkets & dinners, Starbucks close by. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. 3 closets held our 4 suitcases so they were accessible but out of the way. Only 2 minor negatives (or hotel requests) The closets would have made finding things in our suitcases even easier if they had lights & like all sofa beds it could have been comfier. Would stay again.

just back from NYC having spent 6 nights at the hotel beacon, there were 5 of us, we had a bedroom, sittingroom with small kitchenette which was a great size for the family. we were on the 18th floor which was very quiet. Fairways across the road for picking up a few food items, viand diner next door was very good. the staff were very friendly and helpful. The subway was less than 5 minutes walk away!. We had takeaway pizza from patsys pizza which was very good. Levain bakery had lovely cakes to take away.

We got great value with the room rate and would highly recommend especially to families! Look forward to coming back there in the future!!

My husband and I recently returned from10 fabulous days in New York at the Beacon Hotel with our 3 children aged 14, 12 and 12. The hotel was fantastic from start to finish. We had a 2 bedroom suite on the 14th floor facing Broadway. They were great sized rooms with very comfy beds, 2 bathrooms and excellent kitchenette with all we needed. We ate various meals in the room as well as eating out which saved us a lot of money. There is a great market across the road which is pricey but cheaper than eating out. It is close to the subway and a short walk from the river and Central Park. It is the best hotel we have stayed in as a family and we would highly recommend it. The staff are friendly and helpful, it is quiet at night (for New York!) and there is a guest launderette which is easy to use and useful as we were staying over a week! We were sad to leave and would return in a heartbeat. Well done Beacon!!

We stay at this hotel whenever we can get a reservation there. We have been to a few other hotels in the city and this is easily our number one choice!

Amazing Service, the room was cleaned quickly and professionally every day, if there was anything we needed they brought it to is happily, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

They have free wi-fi, which is very easy to connect to, and works almost all the time, except for when there are too many people are using it throughout the hotel.

There are either very good (for example: Central Park) or very bad (for example: The back of the building) views, in the past we have mostly had good views but you never know what you are going to get.

In our time there we have had visits from two rodents, but it is NYC so what are you going to do.

The fitness suite they have is quite small compared to other hotels we have stayed at but very clean and the equipment is very new, it is smaller in person than in the picture.

Definitely stay there if you can.

This is my 7th visit to NYC and I have stayed in most neighbourhoods and a lot of mediocre hotels but without a doubt the Beacon Hotel is by far the best hotel I have stayed in in Manhattan. I chose a king suite as I was bringing my daughter to New York as a 21st Birthday gift and I wanted us to have some space. The suite was more like a one bedroomed apartment, very spacious with a lovely kitchen area with full fridge/freezer, full cooker with oven, a microwave etc. The lounge area had a very comfy couch which could also be used as a double sofabed, both the lounge and double bedroom had flat screen TV's with a huge selection of channels including movies. The bathroom was smallish but very nice and had a great shower, there is 3 walk in wardrobes so plenty of space for storage/clothes/suitcases etc. The staff are extremely friendly without being false, just genuinely nice people who really go out of their way for guests. In terms of expense, our suite was more expensive than I would normally pay but I have to say for a few hundred dollars more you really get a whole lot more and it really was like coming back to your own apartment every evening, very calm, cosy and comfortable, the bed was very comfy and the suite had amazing views of the west central park. The location is perfect with the 72nd st subway line a mere 3 minutes walk and services most lines so you can go almost anywhere in Manhattan from there. Go ahead treat yourself to this great hotel in a great location and with free WIFI!

Room Tip: 23 floor has amazing views

Three of us spent three nights at Hotel Beacon in mid March. The apartment configuration was effective for us, and the updated old style was comforting. We liked the closeness of the Metro plus the wonderful front desk (Isa Altmonte, Assistant Manager Eryk Gorski), bell cap (Omar), Doorman Randy, concierge Kenny and Ryan who recommended Viand and the sausage and also recommended Patsy's Pizza.....YUM! Having the Viand next door was perfect for all meals. Happy Hour at the Beacon bar with its very modern décor relaxed us. We hope to stay at Hotel Beacon again when we are visiting NYC, and maybe even enjoy a performance at the Beacon Theatre.

Room Tip: We were on the 7th floor front and didn't notice any noise. Watching the traffic and people go b...
