We spent a lovely 5 nights at the Hotel Beacon in the lovely Upper West Side in early October. This is my third time staying and once again, it well and truly lived up to expectations.

We arrived early after disembarking from our cruise ship at Pier 88. We headed across to the hotel and arrived shortly after 10am. Our room was still occupied, however we were able to do all necessary paperwork. We ventured up to the laundry as we had lots of washing from our week long cruise!! Within 2 hours, we had finished all of our washing and the front desk informed us that they had gotten our room ready - insanely quick if you ask me. I was so thankful and appreciative.

We had a great 1 bedroom suite on the 25th floor with 2 doubles and a sofa in the living room. This room was a little smaller than a 1 bedroom I have previously stayed in (just the bedroom itself) the other one was a corner suite which is probably why it was slightly different. The beds are very comfortable which is handy after long days exploring the city. The sofa is also surprisingly extremely comfortable for a sofa bed. Our friend joined us for 3 of the 5 nights and slept very well every night.

The kitchen facilities are so handy and part of the reason we choose this hotel each time. We went over to Fairway (grocery store across the road) to buy groceries for breakfast each day. I was shocked at how busy the store was though - we could hardly move! The kitchen is quite small - not ideal for preparing big meals, but perfectly suitable for breakfast, snacks etc.

I absolutely love the location of the hotel. The Upper West Side is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Manhattan. There are some great delis nearby and plenty of places to eat. It is so easy to catch the subway as well - the #1 goes from 73rd straight downtown.

All in all, a fantastic stay and I will definitely stay there again when we are back in New York next.

Comfortable clean, large room with a small kitchen area complete with fridge, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and two-ring hob. There were many restaurants providing a wide-range of food choices within comfortable walking distance along with a couple of superb food stores just over the road if preparing your own food in the small kitchen is your choice. We did both.

The hotel is on Broadway but is a good walk from much of the of the main action of the famous street. Whilst walking to many of the Uptown attractions was easy for the ambulant, for those less mobile there is a Subway station just a couple of blocks down and, of course, plenty of yellow cabs passing by.

We had a very enjoyable three-night stay and would return to the hotel.

Room Tip: We had a high-floor room at the front of the hotel which was reasonably quiet.

Great location. Easy to get anywhere. Excellent market across the road and some really nice restaurants. Comfortable for a family of 4 in a suite. We had a room that looked over the roof which was fine as it was probably quieter than facing the street.

This was my first trip to New York and would definitely stay here again, loved it. Great location, quiet upper west side. Minutes away from subway, close to Central Park. Room was very spacious, kitchenette was very handy, complete with Keurig coffee maker. There was a great market across the street and a wine shop on the corner. Nice little restaurant next door, Viand, which was convenient. Laundry facilities were much appreciated. The staff was friendly and helpful. Highest recommendation!

We recently stayed at the Hotel Beacon, it was a really nice place to stay, it was in the nice quiet part of uptown New York, but still close enough to get out and about without any problems, the subway was only 3 minutes walk from the hotel and the subway was only a 5 minute trip to Central Park and Times Square.
The front desk and the staff were friendly and helpful with all our needs and the rooms were extremely comfortable.

The location of Hotel Beacon is prefect, about a 2 minute walk to the subway, 10 minute walk to central park, 25-30 minute walk to Time Square. It's location makes it easy to get to all the places you want to see quickly. There is a market across the road and is surrounded with restaurant. Hotel staff provide exceptional service. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed here two nights in September. We were upgraded to a two-bedroom suite when we checked in (for no apparent reason! You too might get lucky!) and it was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent, with a market just across the street, several restaurants close by, and the subway just a couple minutes walk. The desk staff were really helpful and friendly (at least the two, a man and a woman, that we usually saw.) I (heart) New York City, due in large part because of the Beacon. If you can swing the cost, it's worth every penny.
