We stayed in the Beacon, New York last week and we have nothing but praise for the hotel, the staff (particularly the staff), and the rooms were really nice and spotlesly clean.
We travelled to a wedding with a largre group of people and having seen their hotels, I know we got the best deal of all. Some had cheaper hotels, none had better.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be good. Very quiet. No doorbanging in the middle of the night.

Our first trip to New York. Thanks to the Beacon not our last. We will certainly come back to NY and book this perfect hotel again. Great location, very good rooms and a perfect staff. Located next to the theatre and the central park. For food just walk across the street to the supermarket Fairway (they have everything) or to the deli Citarella.
We had a suite with two bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen situated at the corner of the building. Great views from the windows.

Room Tip: take a corner suite

Stayed here twiice, love the area. Also love the separate bedroom & living area with a small kitchen, very handy considering the great food stores across the street. The rooms are quite spacious, nice furniture & artwork. Clean & well maintained.

The hotel is in a quiet location in a lovely part of town. We had a suite with a bedroom , separate lounge and kitchen. Was very spacious and tastefully decorated. There is a supermarket and lovely deli across the road ,there is a wine shop very close by which stocks everything you can imagine including lots of Australian produce. The lobby staff were very helpful with everything and nothing was too much trouble. There is the beacon theatre next door which hosts some world class acts. Really enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

Room Tip: Choose a suite rather than a single room if you are staying for more than a few days.

I stayed here with the recommendations from my travel agent I found it a very nice quiet area to stay in nyc with an awesome market across the road, at a great stop for the subway from time square, the best cafe next door for breakfast absolutely loved it

Room Tip: they don't have a bar or a pool so it's just somewhere to sleep but very nice

Our family group of 7 checked in and we were allocated rooms ending 01 - as in 1701, 1901 etc. small corner rooms with one queen size bed (two of our party are well over 6' tall so this wasn't ideal. with two suitcases in each room there wasn't room to swing the proverbial cat; I then switched on one of the electric rings to boil a kettle and it set the fire alarm off. By this time I was fed up and asked reception if we could be moved to larger rooms; I was told that nothing was available but two rooms could be moved the following day to a standard King size room. The next day my husband and I moved to this standard room and it was 100% better - king size bed and far more space; although the bathroom was just as small as the one in the original room with miniscule towels. and I had to ask every day for shower gel to be left when the room was attended to. Two more of our party were moved the following day and the family member sleeping on his own didn't bother changing rooms as the room was adequate for single occupancy (which I discovered subsequently) is what they are assigned for - so why three couples were given these rooms I don't know. So beware if allocated a room on any floor ending 01 - tiny, corner room with small bed and far too small for a couple. Diner next door (Viand) was excellent for breakfast - there are no facilities at all at the Beacon. Would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Don't have any rooms ending with 01 as tiny, corner rooms.

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at The Hotel Beacon (2 adults + 1 Child). I would not hesitate in recommending or indeed using this hotel again.

Fantastic big suites, clean, great staff and perfectly located in the beautiful Upper West Side. Our suite had 2 Queen beds in one room and a King sized Bed/Settee in the lounge part. The room also has a built in kitchen if you want to cook yourself.

There is a fantastic restaurant/Diner right next door that we used every day for breakfast.A bank 1 block away that's open 6 days a week and an absolutely wonderful Deli directly across the street. There's also an indoor market opposite if you want to buy fresh fruit and veg.

Don't hesitate to stay you'll love it....
