The location is perfect . Check in went well, we were early and checked our luggage, headed to Upstairs bar. Great drinks, incredible views. Would recommend. Our room was clean and had a wonderful bed. Shower was nice although the water was only lukewarm on Sunday morning. The view we had was of construction but seriously we just closed the blinds. We were not there to spend time in the room, we wanted to go out.

Had brunch at the Upstairs on Sunday, was nice. Pancakes a little overdone but the rest was tasty.

All in all I would consider going back to the Kimberley. Its a great value for the price.

The hotel is extremely well located just a couple of blocks away from Rockefeller Centre. The room we got was quite big and comfortable so it was nice since we were in a family vacation. The staff was pretty helpful and the concierge service was really good about restaurant recommendations and tours. One night we went to the bar upstairs, which it has a really beautiful view of the Chrysler Building, also they served good cocktails.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone going to NYC.

This is a good hotel for anyone who likes a large room at a reasonable price. The views are good, most rooms have a balcony, and the beds are very comfortable. Furnishings are sometimes a bit shabby, but I'll trade that for extra space anytime.

Room Tip: Ask for corner room on high floor

This place is great. Staff is friendly, rooms are spacious (or mine was, at least) there is a really nice rooftop bar and restaurant, and it's neat many good restaurants and stores, especially for a hotel in Midtown. The concierge was especially helpful. Also, for a hotel in New York the price was quite good.

The little things make this place top notch. The fact that in a double room they give you two umbrellas and two free bottles of water, as opposed to one, for example. Not a high dollar difference, but is shows they are at least thinking about their guests a little more than other hotels.

There are two areas of the hotel, the main Tower and a smaller annex to the left of the front desk that only goes up 6 floors or so. I was in the annex, but I saw rooms in both areas and they were uniformly high quality. One small niggle - the elevators in the main hotel are slow, but the hotel management indicated they were slated for replacement.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Kimberley . Was visiting NYC from Ireland with friends. As many mentioned many times from previous reviewers, this hotel is in a great location to base yourself if staying midtown . The exterior entrance is still under construction and has been since last time I visited in 2012 but it made no difference at all . We stayed in a room with two double beds and it was very comfortable especially the beds . There is a lovely diner next door which is great for breakfast . What made this hotel stand out for us was some of the staff . In particular Harry on the front door a true gentleman. We were always greeted with a huge welcome and smile when returning weary after a days shopping or sightseeing . He organized transport for us whenever needed . His colleague Jose was also very helpful. Also like to mention the concierge Peter who organized Tao restaurant for us last minute . If the management of the hotel scan these reviews then I hope they give the staff we have mentioned a nod as they deserve it . Will stay at the Kimberley again if I return to NYC .

We just stayed 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary. They upgraded us to a corner suite just for asking. Service was always with a smile. The amenities were great and lots of little extras. Awesome rooftop bar and great breakfast served up there. Location was perfect. It could not have been any better.

Pros: good location, on East side. Close to lots of things, but far enough away to be quiet. Good size rooms, with kitchen area, sitting area, and huge bed. Couple of good bars in the hotel, not hotel bars, but more upmarket trendy type places. If you don't like trendy, and I don't if not in company, then there are lots of pubs two blocks arcoss on 51st & 2nd.

Cons: Sitting room area was freezing and could not get warmth out of A/C unit. Bedroom was fine. Don't be fooled by kitchen, it would be with a stove, but has everything but, including a dishwasher. Great if you like to microwave all your food.

Room Tip: Sure the heat gas jot an issue in spring through autumn as cooling is all you need.
