We were there for 3 nights and I can easily say that I want to go to NYC every year just because I want to stay at The Kimberly Hotel each time. Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and our suite was simply luxurious.

Skip The Kimberly. You can do much better in NYC. Keep looking. The front desk employees seemed to enjoy telling guest after guest that room types were not guaranteed. The smell of cigarette smoke in our "non-smoking" room and an A/C unit that clanked loudly through the night made the stay very unpleasant.

Room Tip: There is scaffolding draping the front of the hotel on which workers are present M-F.

The size and elegance of the suite and the exceptional service and staff.
Loved the roof top restaurant and bar...the buffet breakfast was awesome, and elegant, adding a LUNCH and DINNER service would be great...
5th AVE and MADISON AVE....SHOP....SHOP...SHOP!
Gorgeous and CLASSY, CLASSY, CLASSY!!!! The rooms are HUGE and include a BALCONY....both of which are UNHEARD of in Manhattan where most rooms are under 300 sq feet, THE KIMBERLY 1 bedroom suite we had was over 600 sq feet PLUS a BALCONY!!!
The staff was AWESOME, letting us check in early and providing EVERY service and EXTRAS making us feel like ROYALTY throughout our stay.
WE WILL BE BACK!!!

This hotel is one of the best kept secrets in New York. I have been staying here regularly over the past 15 years. The hotel is in Mid Town east on 50th and Lexington so you are walking distance to everywhere . Cut right across and you will get to 5th avenue in less than a 12 Minutes’ walk, Times Square is about the same, Central Park is 10 Blocks away and Grand central Station 10 Blocs South. Do not expect a huge grand lobby or extensive business facilities but what you do get is great service and amazing rooms with lots of space absolutely unrivaled in downtown New York at this price. For about US$445 you can get a one bedroom suite with a large living room with plenty of seating including a sofa bed and a flat panel TV, a desk and your own private fax, a dining area with a table and 4 chairs and fully equipped kitchenette. The bedroom is very large with plenty of wardrobes and a chest of drawers a king size bed and another flat panel TV. The bathroom is average size but comfortable. There is absolutely nothing in this part of town which matches this. Great if your are on business or especially if you are traveling with kids. I absolutely love this place. Breakfast is very good and is served downstairs in the adjacent Italian restaurant.

Room Tip: The hotel upgraded some of the rooms and in doing so cut some of the larger rooms down in size so t...

My fiance and I stayed in this hotel for a weekend getaway. It's an ok hotel. It's average. We've stayed in much better. When we arrived, it was very hectic and the front desk wasn't very pleasant to deal with. The halls and rooms kind of smelled musty. Our room was pretty nice with a good view, but the cleanliness left alot to be desired.

If you are having trouble finding a hotel available, this is a good pick for something last minute. But, if you have the time to research, there are much better hotels around the city to choose from. The one cool thing this hotel offers is a nice rooftop bar with yummy specialty made drinks.

I'm sorry to say it has taken me months since my last stay to post something, but better late then never. My last stay was the first week of feburary and it was my second time at the kimberly. The first time was for my birthday last year and I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. It was amazing. We had friends meet us up on the rooftop, where the music and night life was so fun! It made my birthday. This last stay, was a very special one. We stayed in a 1 bedroom executive suite which was incredible. The front desk gave us complimentary breakfast and a cheese platter sent to our room a little while after. My boyfriend proposed one of the nights that we stayed there and it will forever be our hotel now! We cant wait to come back. This will def be our romantic getaway hotel that we will have to take once a year! Everyone should stay at the kimberly for the experience, location and excellent service!! I work in a hotel in NYC and I know how people are supposed to be treated and the staff at the kimberely went out of their way to make us happy. Thank you!

Room Tip: The higher up the better of course for views!!

We chose the Kimberly Hotel for the location and amenities, but the construction going on right outside our windows made it unbearable. We asked if the construction would be continuing during our whole stay of five days and received a rude answer, "There's a letter in your room explaining it." There was no letter. Had there been, we wouldn't have asked. Supposedly no other room was available. There was no apology, no sympathy, no courtesy.

Elevators are extremely slow.
