Stayed at the Excelsior from Sept 29th to Oct 3rd upon check in there was no warm welcome just a rude man called Borici, he informed us that our agent had booked us 2 single beds when the reservation document clearly did not reflect this, did however rectify this after some perseverance.
He did not even welcome us to the hotel after a long trip and choosing his hotel out of the numerous available in this great city. After being given the room keys he did not even direct us to the lifts or floor of the room including telling us about the facilities available to us.
This did not ruin the trip and did not see him again during my stay, the hotel itself was quaint and had a lot of character, room allocated (given that this was given after some negotiation) was facing buildings at the rear of the hotel with no view, however the views were to be had from New York itself and not the room. Bed was comfortable and room facilities good with no issues other than the poor reception on arrival. would stay there again although improvements with customer care may well be the focus.....
