The location of this hotel is fantastic. Two blocks from Macy's and in the middle of some fantastic shopping.
It was my friend and I sharing the room, and we got a Junior Suite. It was two rooms, queen size bed in the room with an adjoining room that has a twin size daybed. The adjoining room was very nice to have, there is an extra closet, a desk, TV that didn't work and lots if floor space to put your luggage and all the extras you are sure to buy. There isn't a mini fridge in the room, that always bothers me. And the air conditioning is from two window units. The lobby is beautiful, very Art Deco, but a little dirty, it could use some TLC.
Front desk staff weren't the most outgoing , but all the maids on our floor were very good.
Overall, for the $160 a night, it's was a great place to stay.

Great hotel for those who want a good location, good service, comfortable room (however it can be noisy!!), friendly staff (most) and well priced. I have to say a special thank you to Jeto in reception who from the moment we walked in to the hotel to the moment we left 7 days later always had a smile on his face, was extremely helpful and is a real credit to the hotel. The coffee and muffins provide a good start to the day. The only downside - the noise in the rooms (maybe not all rooms) and the bathrooms are small, but clean which is more important.

Room Tip: room 1020 was noisy. we were meant to get a room on the 5th floor but it wasn't ready when we arrived so we took this room, perhaps if we had waited we would have had a quieter room

This was our 4th trip to New York and our first stay at the Walcott. We were completely satisfied with every aspect of our stay and the welcome we got from the staff at the hotel. The morning muffins and coffee were an unexpected treat. Consider The Walcott before you look elsewhere. As far as value for money goes I'm not sure it can be beaten.

A very good location in manhattan. On arrival we found that our room had been upgraded to a 'junior suite' which was a good start. We were at the back of the hotel which meant that it was very quiet but lacked any real daylight.the rooms were reasonably decorated if a bit dated and were clean and tidy.
The staff proved to be very helpful with things like recommendations for restaurants , places to see and travel arrangements.
Free muffins and coffee/tea were provided for breakfast but its a shame there's no restaurant on site.

For this price the largest room I've had. Service was excellent and we returned each day to an immaculate room, staff very helpful and the breakfast muffin a bonus. As well positioned in the city as any, right on the N,R and Q lines.
