The location is around the corner and across the street from the Museum of Natural History.
You can go there have a decent meal, a good drink, tasty guacamole and friendly service. It beats being weighed down by the crowds at the Museum's food court. A very nice spot to eat at if you are planning a trip to the museum.

We waited 30 minutes for a table for a late lunch, but it was worth it. Crowded and noisy (like so many places in NYC) but the service was friendly and the food is delicious!

I didn't think Mexican food in the east would be good, but it was amazing. The staff was friendly and the place is cute and cozy.

While visiting the Natural History Museum, we wandered outside after getting a bit hungry. There was a burger joint that we had read about so we tried to get in. Too crowded so we decided to try the close by Cafe Frida for some Mexican. Good decision. We were taken up to a second floor loft where we had a view of the entire restaurant. Kind of a cool spot. The food we ordered was a mix: quesadilla, tacos tinga, tacos barba, and burrita barbacoa. I've been to so many Mexican restaurants in my life that I can't tell you what's authentic. The one thing I can tell you is when something is good. And all of us agreed the food was good here. It wasn't about presentation or overwhelming us with service. It was good, hot, delicious food. They served it up and in right size portions so we were bloated coming out. Eat here, get good food, then keep exploring New York. This is worth the stop.

A cozy atmosphere with average food. Enchiladas were mostly cheese. Skimped out on the meat a little. Margaritas were weak.
