Maoz is really really good. Fresh juices/smoothies and fabulous falafel with eggplant and avocado...prices are reasonable. it's small but clean and friendly. great find among all the burger and fry places. worth a visit.

“Hungry and in a hurry in Union Square?”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

Hungry and in a hurry in Union Square? Grab a felafel with all the trimmings. The food is fresh, vegan and delicious. The hungrier you are, the better it will taste ;-)

“Just like a Falafel in Israel!”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

I stopped into this little joint on Union Square East, because I didn't have time to dine - I just needed to eat some dinner before an early evening meeting, and the Maoz Falafel advertised as being strictly vegetarian - and later I noticed that it was also completely Kosher. What was terrific was the Falafel itself, from the Pita bread (I got the whole wheat) to the amazing choices of salads and dressings you could add to it for free, it was the tastiest and freshest tasting falafel that I have had since staying in Israel.
The only problem with this joint is that there is not much seating, so it is not the most comfortable place to sit or find seating on a cold or rainy/snowy day, BUT it is right next to the lovely Union Square, where there is much seating in a fabulous city park setting!

“Amazing vegan/vegetarian food”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

This place is awesome!
Saw it in Manhattan and was so surprised as I had been at a Maoz Vegetarian in Amsterdam earlier. This one was a lot better then the one there though!
The food is amazing! (if you like falafel) and you get a lot of it. The atmosphere is really great, wasn't too crowded and the staff was friendly. Also, it was clean and really not too expencive.
If you are vegan this is a really great choice as it can be hard sometimes to find good 'fast' food :-)
