Brilliant bagels here and the choice is endless, took me ages to decide, quick service, limited sitting, great value, will be going back, worth a visit.

“I'm still stuffed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014 via mobile

I'm a carb aficionado! This place satisfies my carb cravings, and then some. The bagels are big, soft and chewy. Get them while they are hot. The line is very long but the wait is worth it. If you are only getting bagels, and not a sandwich or asking for the bagel to be toasted, there is a special line to get in and out.

“Best Bagels Around”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

I will start off by saying that if you like lox cream cheese, you need to make your way down here. The pieces of lox inside of the cream cheese are huge and they are not skimpy throughout the spread.

The bagels are absolutely delicious. They are crispy on the bottom, soft on the top and have great flavor. They are big, fluffy, airy bagels and are hands down the best in this country. You need to go here!

“Best Bagel in NYC!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

We decided to head down to Ess-a-Bagel after a google search revealed they had arguably the best bagels in New York City. It was a decent walk from our hotel, but well worth it! The place has a beautiful feel, with lovely wooden walls and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The staff did appear a little put out by our indecisiveness and inexperience at ordering filled bagels, but were still fairly helpful and very quick. And the food was outstanding! The sesame bagel was cooked to perfection, and filled with plenty of the delicious salmon cream cheese mix. The cinnamon raison bagel filled with cream cheese was also amazing. This is definitely worth a visit for anyone after an outstanding breakfast in New York (their hot chocolate was also great), even after a half-hour walk!

“Fantastic Bagels!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

My wife had the onion bagel with chive cream cheese - obviously very oniony! I had the cinnamon raisin bagel with walnut and raisin cream cheese. BOTH were awesome and big!
