Lunch here with my friends was a pleasant dining experience. Food was good and service was fast and friendly. Will go back if I'm in the neighborhood.

“Nice atmosphere but extremely loud”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

We didn't wait long before they could find us seats. The place is crowded and very loud. Our waitress suggested a Lobster Pasta, which we ordered. 15 minutes later, she came back and apologized and said they don't have the dish anymore.. Why would you recommed something you don't have? We had to pick another dish and wait another 20 minutes which is fine because we were drinking and having fun among friends. Food is not bad overall but you keep on getting pushed by people walking around or passing behind your chair.

“Fun, lively atmosphere and great food!”

I've been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. Service, food, energy are all excellent! Reservations recommended though. There's usually a fairly long wait.

“We were given the "kids table"”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

4 couples on a Saturday night with prior reservations, were given a table composed of 3 small tables put together. We were bumping knees with each other all night. Service was ok, our waitress was more of an order taker, but we still tipped over 20%. They gave me the kids portion gnocchi for $19. Bottom line: you can find better Italian restaurants in NYC with better and more affordable food. Oh, and bigger tables.

“Our spot...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We've been to Morandi so many times it's hard to keep track, from New Years Eve four hour dinners to quick lunches on a Sunday while wandering the West Village. It may be all the great memories of time spent there with friends, or it may be the negroni's and meatballs, but we have an affection for this place that we don't have anywhere else. The food is consistently good, and you can't go wrong by ordering a few things to share. We suggest the fried olives, meatballs, cacio e pepe pasta, and the chicken. Also, if everyone likes steak, the rosemary steak for two is a great way to go. This restaurant can get a bit of a bar scene going, but if that's not your thing, you can always get a quieter table further from the central bar. For us, this place just makes us happy.
