I have enjoyed gelato all over the world, and all over New York, but this specialty shop near Columbus Circle is one of the best.
Fresh ingredients, imported where necessary and local where possible, result in a premium taste.
the company plays up it's "expensive because the quality is high" image, but in reality it is not more expensive, or at least not much more, that inferior products sold elsewhere.

This is one of the best ice cream place that you can find. The are one of the best in Italy too. All fresh and organic. Una delle migliori gelaterie italiane qui a New York.

My friend just came back from Italy and recommended Grom. I'm a HUGE fan of Capogiro in Philadelphia and was excited to compare the two places. I don't eat raw milk products so I planned on getting sorbet until I saw that they had a chocolate sorbet that was made with egg yolks. I got cioccolato extranoir, chocolate with chocolate chips. It was good. Had the texture of real gelato. Couldn't tell that it was milk free. The selection of sorbet was small. Only 4 flavors and they were basic fruit flavors. Capogiro has many more interesting flavors. The price for Grom is outrageous for the amount that you get, but i understand that's just how it is. It's gelato, its NYC, its gonna be expensive. I didn't think it was amazing though.
