Welcoming & cozy atmosphere of relaxed elegance with brick wall and high gass windows that let in the daylight and give a warm golden glow from the street at night. Staff is attentive while still being relaxed and friendly. The food is bright, fresh and imaginative. Our party of 5 tried a good per centage of the menu offerings and declared all delicious. Special nods to the beet salad with goat cheese and horseradish creme, pan roasted chicken with hazelnut brown butter and halibut with parsnips, brussels, golden beets and cumin cintronette. Everyone pronounced the side of roasted brussel sprouts with pickled apple and sage to-die-for. A "can't miss" choice in the West Village.

Ate dinner here this past weekend. Walked about 15 minutes from the subway in light flurries and the cold which only enhanced what is already a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. Got there a little early so we sat at the bar with a glass of wine and studied the wine list in anticipation of a bottle with dinner. The manager and hostess both checked in with us while we waited, offering us help with the wine list and letting us know that if we wanted to wait a little longer we could sit at a two in the window if we preferred. We did and it was worth the couple of extra minutes. The table was in the corner just to the left of the door. There's a small curtain on the door so don't be worried about cold air if you get offered this table, it's a great spot.

The food (everything we ordered is still on the website menu where you can get full descriptions). We started with salads; beet salad with the horseradish creme and the mushroom and brussels sprout salad. They were both excellent. The mushroom and brussels came with a fried egg on top and a couple of small cubes of lardon on the side which you might think a little cliche until you put it in your mouth. The mains were the sauteed halibut (perfectly done) and the pork shoulder (fork tender and a great choice on a cold night). We caught each other doing the closed eyes rocking in your chair thing a couple of times during the meal. Dessert, we shared two scoops of gelato (rum raisin and sour cream flavored), Don't know if the gelato was made in house or not and don't care. It was excellent. Speaking of excellent, we haven’t submitted many reviews and try hard not to default to excellent even if we like a place a lot but we really don’t have a choice here.

Inventive, fresh from the farm (or seemingly) and perfectly prepared dishes. The roasted felafel is a favorite, but everything here is well conceived and of high quality. The ambiance is one of the attractions. With windows on the West Village, this corner restaurant has generous streams of daylight during lunch and the glowing moodiness of outdoor street lights during dinner. It deservedly has earned its reputation as a Village eatery with a kitchen and crew that works hard to surpass expectations. Beer and wine are served, but unfortunately no cocktails.

The Market Table is a wonderful neighborhood bistro in the west village. The menu is well rounded with great french fries, nice protein dishes and a wide assortment of hardy "comfort" food. A wide selection of wine - with a few strategic beers.

The service was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant with floor to ceiling windows and an old gilded ceiling. A classic environment for a business lunch or a late night romantic/intimate dinner.

If, when, you are in the west village - this is a must visit place.

We found this place as we were walking around randomly deciding where to have breakfast. With so many places to eat in New York, we played our cards right with this one. Nice place and a nice breakfast served up right. I am getting accustomed to NYC prices, but three of us at $82.00 before tip is still more than I would like to spend for our order of pancakes, side of eggs, 2 bacon
orders, poached eggs , quiche and three juices. I gave up trying to budget in NYC. Enjoy the city and enjoy this place for a good breakfast!
