Our son (40 yo) knew this was a good place but he always likes to be sure his folks (70's) are comfortable in an adventurous looking restaurant. The place really was on the small side with one waiter who somehow kept up with the pace. But the biggest surprise was the food. Crispy duck: the best I have ever had due to the sides with it. The pork and watermelon was also bordering on the outrageous. My wife loved the peppered mussels. A surprisingly good but small wine list. Oh test: don't forget to order a "pickle back."

Probably one of the best food experiences Ive had on my four visits to NYC.
Me and my friend shared two of the main courses (that we where told where "small" portions) and this was just enough food to feed the both of us after a long day. The price was not bad either. The resturant is a little small so it might be difficult to get a table unless you are early, but I would recommend waiting (as far as I remember they do not accept reservations).

Amazing food, great service, very good cocktails, all round big must go. Situated in a great area and although small, it really packs a punch. No reservations, so be prepared to wait for a table.

This casual room in the meatpacking district serves up Asian fusion treats. Excellent pork buns and a nice wine list .

If you can't get in there is a cute Italian place 2 doors south.

It gets busy, and the space isn't huge to begin with, so early diners will have an advantage. The charred squid salad and crispy pork and watermelon are outstanding. They also make a mean Dark & Stormy! Very laid back and friendly service.
