Nice spot with decent food in a wonderful location in the heart of Rockefeller Centre. Nice decor, outstanding service. Not memorable food, but nice comfort food at reasonable price given the location

“Massive disappointment”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Great location and we were really happy to find somewhere to sit outside on a pleasant October day. But everything else was a disaster - food miserable, service surly and probably the most ineffectual maitre d' we have ever come across. Whilst we were there 3 other tables got up and left, clearly unwilling to wait any longer.

“Great location, nice food - great place to sit outside”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Great location within Rockefeller Plaza, over looking 30 Rock, great selection of food - nice place for dinner and lunch. Highly recommend as a place to go if you are exploring the midtown area or want to get out of Times Square for an hour or so. Great place to people watch too.

Great service

“very housewives of new York place”
Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

loved the setting
food selection was impressive. as was champagne selection.
no reservation. there was loads of room though the top seats were "" reserved"". corner seats, seats with good shade though they did not appear when we were there
ladies who lunch and shop filled the plaza

could have sat people watching all day. but the table was cleared when the last morsel was set in mouth
felt rushed as we were it eating a large lunch
great experience
no I didn't see any of the housewives from the series butit would have Ben a place they could be seen without embarrassment

“Nice place”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Well I have been to NYC 6 times already, most of them on vacation and each time I visit the city I pass by Ruhlmann. It is not just a brasserie but a 5 stars restaurant as well. When the weather is good, you can have access to a really nice outdoor seating area just in front of the Rockefeller center. It is a really sweet place to be seated at if you want to enjoy a nice New Yorkan breeze. Ruhlmann is located just on 5th avenue towards St Patrick's cathedral. It is accessible by foot from all landmark sites in NYC, so it is just a close walk from times square, avenue of the Americas...So location wise the place is really well situated.

The menu is quite rich and inclusive of exquisite meals that range from fries and burgers to lobsters and a variety of sea food. There is no doubt that the plates are generous and offers a nice blend of luxurious cuisine in a relaxing New York atmosphere.

Only drawback.....the place is pricey. On one of my visit we were a party of two, ordered a salad, a sandwich and a couple f soft drinks and ended up with a USD 60 bill.

I recommend Ruhlmann if you are taking someone on a business lunch or dinner. The inner atmosphere is exactly where one can impress on a business lunch/dinner. If you are planning on just having a coffee then try and take a nice table in the outdoor seating area if the weather is good.

I recommend this place while on visit to NYC for a light coffee and desert. Not your typical recurring restaurant
