Description: A casually elegant neighborhood restaurant from the owner of Gusto, Centro Vinoteca showcases seasonal, boldly flavored cooking rooted in the traditions of Italy. The airy bi-level space was designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, with a stylish yet comfortable black and white decor, large French windows on the ground floor, and an inviting bar for drinks and eats. Upstairs, the cozy dining room offers a more intimate experience. Start with piccolini, small shareable plates designed to whet the appetite, before delving into the well-priced main menu. The wine list features over 200 wines from throughout Italy, including many available by the quartino.

“Great Happy Hour...Creative Menu”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

We happened to check out this menu as we were dodging raindrops and waiting for cross walk light to change. What a surprising find! They have happy hour half price drinks which came with 3 complimentary appetizers. The wines were unfamiliar to me, but great. The appetizers were so good we knew we had to check ou the rest of the menu. We decided to go with something we've never had...octopus carpaccio. The presentation was food show worthy and flavors were exquisite...fennel, citrus and paper thin octopus. We were sorry to have diner reservations somewhere else, but we will return.

“Cute neighborhood gem”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

What a find - this little restaurant in the West Village, New York! Fabulous Italian wines, great authentic Italian straight forward food, and super nice service. The restaurant has a warm and cool ambiance, and all together a great experience at a very reasonable price.

I came here with some colleagues and I loved it. It's light and airy, great selection of wines and delicious food. Lots of great things to snack on and friendly service. I will be back.

“Run there NOW and I don't even drink wine!”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

Really and I mean REALLY good Italian trattoria food. One of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. Raviolis were freshly made with a fresh simple marinara and a lovely parmesan. We were there early in the evening and were seated and served immediately. And the bread....mmmmmmmmmmmm. I look forward to returning
