Description: Established in 2012, Ethos Meze is a new Mediterranean meze (tapas) restaurant and bar located on the corner of 36th Street and 3rd Avenue. Here at Ethos Meze our Chefs have infused the tastes of Mediterranean cuisines to create unique dishes both meze and large. Our owners have designed and constructed Ethos Meze to mimic the Mediterranean ocean with spectacular blue lighting and a flowing wave-like ceiling. As you sip on one of our original cocktails such as our Greek Mojito, Black Martini or enjoy a bottle of our Organic Greek wines, we are sure Ethos Meze will become your new favorite dining experience.

This restaurant has a wide selection of entrees. Our group enjoyed the Langostinos and Lamb Chops. And we really enjoyed the free desserts. On a weekend, a reservation is a must. The place does get very noisy as the evening wears on.

The food is well prepared with fresh ingredients. The portions are ample.
My husband particularly liked the French Onion Soup (although I don't know why this was offered at a Greek restaurant, I"m happy it was!)
The service is very good

This is a local Greek restaurant, with great food and excellent service. Had their Greek appetizers and fish- all prepared with great care. Food- flavourful, with large portions. Service was attentive, and knowledgeable. This restaurant, on 34th Street, does a huge takeout/deliver business with the local condos and hospital accross the street- obviously, its a favorite for the locals. Try it- you will not be disspointed!

Everything one experiences upon entering screams "Party" ! The ambiance is bright and lively with an intimacy of a big family dining room. Excellent serving staff / host / music , all to compliment really excellent food. Our party of 5 sampled several mezze dishes as well as a whole fish and pasta. This is a "go to" place in midtown.

There was a bit of a dreadful anticipation before our dinner at Ethos Meze. I was not the only one in our party fearing that this was a branch of the horrendous Ethos Gallery on 51st and First in Manhattan.

Yet, despite the similarity in names, Ethos Meze was clearly not related in any way to the ghastly Ethos Gallery. The restaurant is very pretty, with good lighting, a pretty long bar, and a welcoming staff. Rather intimate - about 20 tables, at most.

The menu is inspired. We had the grilled octopus appetizer, served after a complimentary serving of delicious quartered mini-pita portions and olive oil. The octopus was well-prepared, served with baby yellow peppers, tomatoes, and onions.

We decided to go for the steak as main course and were happy we did. Both our steaks, served on a bed of steamed fresh spinach and accompanied by a generous portion of home-cut+cooked French fries, were exquisite. Huge cuts of well-prepared meat (we had to 'doggie-bag' at least half our dinner) rewarded us for our good choice.

We had no dessert. How could we? The house cabernet was delicious and the espresso well-prepared. The bar scene was lively, the staff was lovely, and we had a grand time. Highly recommended. Just don't mistake Ethos Meze for the hapless Ethos Gallery on East 51st!
