We were tired and hungry and walked into this place not really knowing what to expect outside of bad irish bar food in a tight hole. Not the case... after entering through the front, the entire basement of the building opened up to a restaurant/sports bar. It was a very busy Sat night and the wife and I managed to get a comfy high back booth at the back of the restaurant with the noise at a level where we could carry on a conversation without yelling. On top of that, the food was good, the drinks were cold and the service was better than the few other NYC eateries we were in earlier that day. Would go back...

The friends we travelled to New York with had been here before, so we decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. We went quite early so it wasn't a problem getting a table. The waitress was extremely friendly which made our experience there a good one. Three of us had the Burger and two had the steak and pasta. The cheese burger was gorgeous, they asked how you wanted it cooking and it just melted in your mouth, the home made coleslaw was lovely. Our friends said the steak and pasta was beautiful.

The service was very fast and they had a good selection of beers on tap and in bottles. We didn't sit with empty glasses as the waitress was great at seeing when we wanted a refill. It had a great atmosphere, especially when local workers came in for a drink.

Great value for money and I would definitely return on my next visit to NYC.

We used this bar a few times during our recent stay in New York. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere very relaxing. We tried a few different meals and they were all very good. The bar is in a good location.

Stopped for lunch one day as it was just down the street from our hotel. Early afternoon so it was quiet inside except for the blaring music from the "background music" system. Why do restaurants always feel they have to have such loud background music? Makes it hard to talk, you have to talk louder, then the people around you have to talk louder, then eventually now one can hear anyone. I don't understand it.

We had a very nice waitress, I asked her if they could turn the music down, she went and asked someone and they turned it down to a quiet murmur. Very nice. For a few minutes. Then someone turned it up again.

Other than that we had a pleasant lunch except they were out of NY cheesecake. How can a NY restaurant be out of NY cheesecake? Every trip to NY I dream of getting to eat REAL NY cheesecake. And they were out of it.

Other than the loud music system and the lack of NY cheesecake, a very pleasant place.
