Small but perfect place to stay in the upper Eastside. Super clean, great restaurants nearby and now a Second Avenue subway.
When I was asked at checkout how my stay was - I responded with "Fine". The landlord/leasing agent (not sure what he is) almost seemed insulted. That was certainly not my intent. However, the apartment was just that . . . Fine. I've stayed in better and I've stayed in worse.
The Good:
Very Quiet!
Cleaner than most.
Good location for us (near NYPH)
Great restaurants around!
Updates are reasonably new - if you like IKEA
We felt safe.
Towels and other linens were plentiful.
Not so Good:
Because it is on the back of the building (therefore, no street noise - remember the good?) - there is only limited view (of the trash area and the brick wall) of the building next door.
Don't plan on really cooking. The utensils, dishes, pots and pans, are horribly lacking.
Bathroom is tiny - but it had both a vent and a heater which was good.
The lack of windows - left a lingering need for more light.
No closet - just a bar in the bedroom to hang clothes . . . if you bring hangers.
There is a dresser but the only empty drawer is broken. The other drawers are full of towels and and sheets.
The sink was broken and bathroom lacked towel bars.
My biggest concern stemmed from the fact that this was not the apartment that I reserved two months in advance. The one I paid a $300 deposit for was another apartment that JT managed. However, two weeks before our expected arrival I contacted JT to extend our stay 3-4 days. At first he told me those days were booked and tried to get me to stay in another apartment he managed for the entire length of our stay. I told him no - we would just keep the original dates. Then he told me that the apartment was not available for ANY of the dates including the period that we had already paid the security deposit for. He told me that the owner had leased it to friends (leaving us without a place to stay).
My concern was two-fold. 1) what part of deposit does the owner not understand? 2) when were we going to be told this rather important detail? --- Remember? I initiated the contact by attempting to add a few days to the end of our stay.
The GOOD part of this dilemma is that JT handled the screw-up very well. He had a solution, he offered another comparable apartment, offered a free night and was very nice throughout the discussion.
All in all - everything worked out well. It was just FINE in the end.
This apartment is located in a quiet building on a quiet street on the upper east side. It's immaculate and well maintained and the owner met us there and showed us around the apartment. One of us slept on the futon in the living room and one in the bedroom. Both were comfortable. It's a couple of blocks to a subway stop and there are lots of restaurants and grocery-type stores nearby. On our first day, we walked to the Metropolitan Museum of Art which is a decent hike along Central Park. This is a great place to stay and both my friend and I recommend it.
My evaluation is long overdue and I am so sorry. This beautiful one bedroom apartment is beyond excellent. Immaculate, well decorated, quiet, comfortable and updated. I am a single, 67 year old professional woman from San Diego and felt very safe. The only problem is this property is always booked so please reserve as early as possible. The neighborhood is self contained; grocery stores, many restaurants, pharmacy, coffee/breakfast cafes, delicious home-made ice cream store next to apartment, etc. This is a great walking community as well as great public transportation (bus and trains) very near by. I could go on and on but this is a very special place that invites multiple returns. Enjoy and feel free to contact me.

I stayed here with my boyfriend on vacation and we both loved the place. It was clean had comfortable furniture and a full kitchen included with dishes which was super helpful! The apartment was beautiful and a dream apartment for a couple to be in New York City on vacation. The neighborhood is very nice and has great restaurants near by. From check in to check out JT was a great guy to work with he was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again!
This UES apartment is an exceptional value for a couple. It was perfect for three lengthy stays this fall and winter. It can easily accommodate a third person on a foldout sofa. It is impeccably clean, well cared for, featuring comfortable and serviceable furniture, and an exceptionally large refrigerator and stove with a well equipped kitchen for those who would want to cook every meal. The bathroom too is modern and clean. The entire apartment is large enough so that two people will not feel cramped and three could manage quite well. There is plenty of storage space in the bedroom with a large chest of drawers, night stands, and hangers. The night stand lamps provide good light for reading in bed, and the two bedroom windows provide ample sunlight. It is located at the rear of the building so it is extremely quiet; there has been no noise from neighbors either within the building or from outside the building. The wi-fi has never failed. The cable television (featuring a large HiDef screen) has multiple channels. It is also safe with a working door buzzer entry system and double locks. The rental manager has been attentive from the initial phone conversation of inquiry to making sure that he is available at all times to meeting us upon arrival and checkout. He has accommodated every request. The business dealings for rental have been efficient and timely including return of our security deposit within 24 hours after checkout using a safe paypal system. The location is excellent, safe, and typically UES. We plan to continue to make this our UES home for many future visits to NYC. After living in NYC on the UES for 20 years, it has been a delight to have found this rental that now feels like 'home' when returning for business and pleasure.
