The restaurant has plenty of outside sitting. Inside there is a dinning area around the bar plus a 2nd dinning area where the live band is located. Heard that Thursday nights they have a salsa band. Music was great but band took many breaks. Customers got up and danced. Guacamole and multi colored chips delicious. My husband had the oxtail. He finished it all. I had the guava bbq ribs. Okay nothing spectacular. Menu is short so they should really be very good on all dishes. Service was very attentive and she was very nice. Drinks. Well here is the problem. Reviews on yelp did point out that cocktails were more mix than alcohol. Our cocktails were disappointing and at those prices they can afford making a proper drink. We will give it a 2nd try to see if they have improved.

My friend and I went to this restaurant for GNO (girls night out) to celebrate two of their birthdays. The restaurant is on a corner and has a lot of space. We didn't feel crowded and on top of another table. The manager had the DJ announce my friend's birthdays and the music and drinks were very good without being overpriced. However, this is a Caribbean restaurant in Harlem, where there is a Caribbean [takeout] within a 3 block radius going in any direction. I say this for reasons I'll explain later. Two of us had the oxtails, one had the taco appetizer, another had the garlic chicken and can't remember the last dish. The oxtail was tasty, but came without any vegetables only rice and peas. My friend did not care for her garlic chicken and said she would not come back for a second visit. For $10 a plate you can go to your favorite Caribbean/Jamaican restaurant and get a huge portion of food that would include rice and peas, oxtail (or other meat options) and cabbage or some other green vegetable. I cannot believe that they would serve this reasonable sized portion without any vegetable. I realize that this is a sit down restaurant where drinks are served and you can sit and enjoy the music, but if I were the owner of this restaurant I would still feel as though I am competing with the places that are take-out where the food is as good or better and vegetables are served, portion size so large it could be shared by most. This was particularly troubling to me so when the owner came over to our table I definitely made the suggestion to him. My friend didn't like her chicken at all so I told him so and then suggested to him that the chicken be served as chicken parts (leg, thigh, breast, etc.) with the bone in. I'm sure that it would have been more enjoyable as chicken breast tends to be dry and doesn't take on the flavor as well as chicken with the bone in. In a Caribbean restaurant it would not be unexpected to serve chicken parts. The first DJ who was playing when we arrived at 7:30 pm on a Friday was very good, then they switched DJ about 8:30 pm and we didn't like him as much. Maybe we are just old school and enjoyed the first DJ more. The restaurant has the potential to be very successful if they read these reviews, keep talking to their customers and simply apply the situation to themselves. Would they pay $20 for oxtail and rice with no vegetables at all. They don't even have it as a side order for purchase. If I go again I will sit at the bar and maybe order appetizers because the entrees are not worth it with so many restaurant in Harlem and NYC.
