This was our first trip to New York being our 25th wedding anniversary & coming from Australia the first holiday that I have ever had in my life (53 years old) where I haven't taken my surfboards so I was a little bit like a duck out of water !

Anyway The Roger is ideally situated on Madison Avenue & within easy walking distance of much is going on for tourists & the subway is just a street away if you want to go up or downtown.

There are a number of pretty good small restaurants & bars in the immediate area which are well priced & offer plenty of variety.

Our room was spacious & tastefully well appointed. The bed could have slept a family comfortably it was that big. The bathroom was relatively small but did the job, albeit the water in the shower took some minutes to get hot.

The number 1 staff member for me at The Roger was Joe the doorman who we met upon arrival & established a good rapport with during our stay. Upon returning from a day running around or going out for dinner he was genuinely interested in what you had experienced whilst out & about. He was a fine representative for his hotel & his city of NY.

The Roger would be well served to advance him into a junior management role to capitalise on his abilities in my opinion.

Every other staff member that you would come across on your floor, in the lift or at the front desk would offer a warm hello with a smile, something you don’t always see in many establishments these days.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Roger & have already recommended it to our friends.

Room Tip: Pay the $$ for the superior room if you are staying more than a few days -it is worth it.

Nice stay here in this well located midtown hotel. In truth, did not test the restaurant nor many of the amenities of the hotel, but found the staff to be helpful, the rooms decently sized for Manhattan, and the location good for those of you looking for a midtown base.

I’d probably come back here for a business trip rather than leisur, but was still overall happy with my stay.

We had stayed in the Roger a few times before the redecoration and had loved it. Gone are the bright colours to be replaced by muted tones similar to so many hotels of this grade and quality. Probably many people would find this perfect for their needs but we like a bit more colour. Our room was comfortable and big enough for our needs. The staff were pleasant but not as outstanding as on previous visits. The position of the hotel is excellent being near a subway stop and away from the bustle. It is a comfortable hotel but sadly for us did not have the extra something that made it stand out from many other similar quality hotels.

This is a good hotel but very slow WiFi speed (0.1 Mbps or less in the room) let it down for me. Advertised as a business hotel but you get a higher speed at MacDonalds for free. I expect better at a hotel of this standard hence I would go elsewhere next time.

I stayed at the Roger this past weekend and enjoyed it very much. The service was great and so was the room. It was a little small but that seems to be most hotels in the city. Location was perfect with good restaurants and bars in the immediate area. It was a great value because of the Express Deal I got on Priceline. I would definitely stay again!

I've stayed at this boutique hotel several times in the last year and quite a few time over the last 10 years. The rooms are clean, and comfortable and the staff is very welcoming. The reception area and lobby are comfortable and intimate. The hotel has been updated in the last few years and has a modern elegance in the lobby and the rooms.

What I love most about this place is that it is far from Manhattan's madding crowd, in a quiet neighborhood. With a subway stop 2 blocks away, you are easy striking distance for most of Manhattan.

Nearby, Cafe Keko is a great place for breakfast, and Koreatown on 31st Street is also a destination for meals.

The Roger is a wonderful boutique hotel located in a great area. The rooms are a good size and very clean. The hotel staff is friendly, and the doormen add the extra little touch in making you feel welcome every time you return to the hotel. The decor is modern and tasteful.
