We were old college friends getting together in NYC after many years and needed to find a compatible place near Penn Station, so selected Cooper's Tavern which is at 34th and 8th Ave. A very good choice. Pleasant but not fancy, good service and very good prices for NYC. A lunch special for $14.95 including appetizer and entre, and a happy hour starting at noon!

Popular place in The New Yorker hotel.
Thought it was over expensive for what we had, service was slow,. Not one of New Yorks best. There are plenty of other restuarants close by that we felt offered better value for money and better food.
Great staff, excellent service. We only ate here on our last day at the hotel, but popped in most nights for a glass of wine. This restaurant/bar is located in the New Yorker Hotel. Again, the portions are huge!
We met there a friend of ours, a real new yorker lady, and had a drink together. We did not know about the happy hour, and a nice girl who came to help us offered the drinks informing us about it. she was helpful and we had a good time there .
