Waitstaff was incredible, appetizers (especially the meatballs) and main course (hanger steak) were delicious!

Small neighborhood restaurant with greater cuisine than the ambiance would suggest. Service was attentive, atmosphere cosy but on the loud side. Cuisine was creative with several memorable dishes. We had the tasting menu - a nice combination of well-crafted and -executed courses, including a slow-cooked Moroccan-style cod that was quite exceptional.

An innovative and creative take on existing classics are to be found at this cozy spot in the West Village, a few blocks from Christopher Street/Sheridan Square. Pleasant service and a lovely dining room help to round out the experience. Highly recommend the duck meatballs and the kale salad as a starter. The duck entree and the steak are sound choices for your main. Partnered with Kin Shop (Perilla's only flaw really and it would do well to disassociate with that other awful place). A really nice place and I can't wait to go back and try the pork chop (and more duck meatballs).

The place is really cozy inside and the staff is sweet but the food disappointed relative to expectations. Each dish was a bit too salty and could have done without a frill or two. For example, the calamari salad with watercress--not only is the calamari fried, so is everything else! The whole thing was like a salty, oily funnel cake...which was enjoyable in some sense but guilt inducing in other ways. The scallop appetizer had a dark, heavy sauce underneath that didnt seem to go. The lebanese cod had two sauces under it and a crust ontop as well. Every plate was just a little too overdone. For the price, I'd skip perilla and wait to get in at another classic like...the little owl maybe?

The food was extremely good..my friend had the sunflower...yes the whole flower sans stem and petals..very innovative and tasty! I bet you this will be the best sunflower you will eat...more likely the only sunflower you will eat! The duck was also very nice...the service was even better...if that's even possible! Realy liked the casual feel of the dining room but the food is anything but casual, every dish is carefully crafted and extremely delicious!! Although the Dessert suggested by our Waiter was not the best I've had...the salty Carmel popcorn was just too savory for my liking. All in all a wonderful dining experience...definitely one of the top restaurants in NYC.
