Loved the room, it was spacious and elegantly designed. The staff were attentive and friendly. Two minor problems were quickly dealt with. The Butler service was exceptional.
I found the high tech iPad room control a bit fussy, other than that, its spectacular.

Stayed one night for a business trip. Check in was efficient and pleasant. Room was nice and elegantly appointed. Nice toiletries. Breakfast at the meeting was very good. Checkout was seamless. Valet yelled at my driver when he honked at a car that was blocking the entrance. Seemed a bit rude but that was the only thing that could remotely be considered a problem.

I stayed here just before Christmas last year, and find it hard to fault anything. Staying at The Plaza has always been something i wanted to do ever since i was a child, and i'm glad to say i wasn't disappointed!

I contacted the hotel weeks before arrival to upgrade my room, and Lisa in reservations was the most professional and polite person i could ever have come across. Nothing was too much trouble. I stayed in one of the rose suites and to sum it up? WOW! Walking into the room, it was close to being the size of my whole house!

The bathroom was amazing, with the bath and shower being in separate areas (i could have stayed in that shower room all day - it was SO relaxing). Be warned though, if you decide to have a bath, expect to wait a while - the tub is gigantic, and took me over 40 minutes to fill it just over half way. The bathroom is also well equipped with all that you would expect in a 5* of this standard.

the lighting, internet and air conditioning are all controlled via an ipad. You can also print off your boarding passes and collect them at the concierge desk.

I dined in the Todd English section of the Plaza food hall which was lovely, and certainly worth the money. The Oak Room was not open at the time i visited the hotel so i cannot comment on there.

Breakfast the next morning was luxurious and relaxing with as large a selection of food as you could imagine. There was a staff member thought that could do with a tune up on 5* standards. but i'd already mentioned this to the hotel at the time so shan't go into details here.

Overall, I had the most amazing time, and fulfilled one of my childhood dreams. Should I be fortunate to ever be in the position that would allow me to return, I would do so, without hesitation. Perfect location, amazing staff and a brilliant way to round off my trip to NYC.

Excellent service throughout with the stark exception of the Palm Court restaurant. On check-in we asked for a quiet room and were immediately moved from the 9th to the 19th (and top) floor and got that rare NY commodity an almost silent room. Reception, room servicing and door staff are all excellent however the service in the Palm Court is appalling for this level of hotel. It appears to be staffed and managed by totally disinterested people. For breakfast instead go left out of the hotel, left at the coner and 100 yards away is the excellent SaraBeths which can teach the Palm Court everything about service.

Location on the corner of 5th and Central Park is great for the Park and midtown with generally plentiful taxis or 200 yards away the subway for furter away.

But value for money? At $950 a night for a deluxe room (even a quiet one) and even for a Fairmont managed hotel I'm afraid this might have been a one off visit.

Room Tip: Floors over 15th will give a quiet room or select a courtyard facing room for the same effect.

The Plaza is a landmark and in a perfect location in New York City. I have stayed there several times. Last visit, there were some minor issues with the shower temperature on the upper floors and minor small electronic issues. On this visit, my room was absolutely perfect. A hotel is known by the friendliness and efficiency of its staff and everyone is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Concierge Desk is one of the best. They made excellent dinner recommendations, and we were able to book in advance.

This stay was right after the Boston Marathon bombings so there was heightened security in and around the hotel. The hotel felt warm and comfortable.

Room Tip: Some rooms have showers over the tub and others have a separate shower. I prefer a separate shower.

Recently stayed at the plaza, location was great. Hotel is very crowded all the time, many children running around and noisy. Rooms were clean, superficially modern ( iPad room control) more suitable for older generation. Wouldn't stay there again!

I was truely excited to book a table for afternoon tea and truely disappointed. The Devonshire cream, when I asked if it was clotted cream I was told yes, incorrect statement it was whipped cream. Location is good. But the food was mediocre at best.
