“This is the real McCoy.”
Reviewed May 14, 2013 via mobile

Very authentic.

I sat near the door in this bustling quaint restaurant with marble topped tables and watched as many Turks stopped in to eat. This is a good bar I use for judging the authenticy of a restaurant

The owner greeted as many of the guests as he could at the door and made it a point to stop by each table to say hello and make sure all was well. The entirely Turkish staff was very knowledgable and this is important because there were many specials that were not on the menu and were a real treat.

Every thing I ate was fantastic. Ezo Gelin (Yogurt soup), lahmacun (Turkish spiced ground lamb pizza). Beyin (lambs brain) and a shepards salad with the fresh made bread made my day.

“What a find! Sensational food. Highly recommended.”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

One of the highlights of our weeklong dining tour of Manhattan. Chef/Owner Orhan Yegen welcomes you personally into his world of absolutely wonderful and delicious Turkish cuisine. Orhan will be on hand all evening to offer you his personal commentary on food and life. Sensational lamb dishes, outstanding octopus (best I have ever had!), all kinds of salads and soups ... all out of this world. Foodies, stop by here for some unique and expertly prepared food and Turkish hospitality and be sure to try some surprisingly good Turkish wines. Highly recommended!

“Great option for Turkish in midtown!”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

We had a party of 5 on a Saturday evening and had been visiting Rock Center just before dinner - I am always skeptical of finding good food at "reasonable" prices in that area of NYC! The food was really delicious and authentic (we had someone in our group to vouch for it;-) lots of lamb dishes with incredible sauces and the bulgar pilaf was very good! we each had three courses and the table had two bottles of wine - came to $50 per person before tip (which surprisingly wasn't already included!) and for our group that was OK for a splurge evening - you could have done it for less with more reasonable menu selections, too - we were able to sit as long as we wanted to enjoy our wine and dessert which was nice, too! The atmosphere was quaint, upscale in appearance and looked more like a bistro than the super "middle eastern" style of some places, which I really liked - I would definitely go back and would encourage NYC visitors to that part of town to take the short walk over a few avenues out of tourist-central to give it a try:-)

“We felt welcome from the moment we walked in the door.”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

On the reccomendation from the Concierge at our hotel, we tried this place on a Friday night after a 7 hour drive into the city. We were welcomed right away. The food was deliciouse, the service was warm and fuzzy, and the beer was cold and fizzy! Our children. This was a great place to start out trip to New York with.
