We visited the View Restaurant for cocktails after watching Chicago on Broadway. Firstly it seemed like an inconvenience when we asked for two small tables to be put together so we could see the skyscrapers. Instead we were seated away from the windows.
We had a cocktail each for 3 of us and were charged cover of $8 each because we didn't stay in the Marriot. The Long Island Iced Tea was great but the Cosmopolitan cocktail could have been much better. The waitress that was covering all the tables was rushed off her feet.
Our check was approx. $140!! Yes the view is amazing, but you do feel like that, is all that is going for the 'Revolving Bar' as it is known. We were given two checks, the waitress gave a random explanation saying that if we wanted to leave a tip then sign the second check, if not sign the first, confusing.
It is a shame it could be so much better. On the flip side of the coin the views of NYC at night were great.
