This place is running on hype alone. It didn't impress me that much. Yes, the cooking was nearly flawless but it was overpriced and nothing wowed me. In my opinion, if you do an octopus dish, the octopus should be the star, but the potato balls on the side were the star. The octopus was well cooked, but lacked seasoning and flavor. The scallops were about average. The fuji apple kimchi was the only thing recommended that I had that actually had a really good balance.

“Pretty Much What We Expected”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

If you follow David Chang on his TV show Mind of a Chef, you will already be familiar with his style. The food was adventurous and delicious. We ordered more than half the items on the menu, and every one was notable. Went on a cold Sunday at door opening, so had no problem with seating, but the place filled up completely before we had finished our meal. I would certainly go back.

“A dish of duck”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

You need to prebook this place a few months in advance, and it's jammed, but once the food is served you understand why. We had the set menu of Duck - if you order that make sure you have a few friends with you - it's big! It was presented beautifully and tasted divine. The customer service was great. At the end of the meal they delighted us with a broth made from the bones to cleanse our palettes. A great experience. Sorry Duck :(

“Strong meal for a decent price”
Reviewed February 26, 2014

Chang's restaurant was doing a great business but service remained pretty strong. The steamed buns that built the empire were very good, as was the pork special and all the apps we munched on. Hit Booker & Dax, the bar attached, a great place.

“Worthy of the hype”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Fun atmosphere, very very adventurous cooking, great service.
The only thing I didn't like was that I got full before I could order the rest of the items on the menu. This is a place to be a little daring, order stuff you might not think you would like...chances are very good you will love it.
