A good friend booked Momofuku for our Girls weekend in NYC because she is a huge foodie and had been reading about the restaurant all year. We ordered the duck, which was delicious, but HUGE. It was hard to finish it and we had quite a crew with us.
Since the duck is cooked to rare the juices from the duck ran into the white rice below the duck... that was not my favorite, I would prefer the rice to have been presented in a separate bowl without the duck drippings staining the rice pink. Just not my thing... probably does not bother most people.
Everything is perfectly fresh and the selection of beverages is interesting... I tried the unfiltered ginger ale, which was terrific.
After the meal we were presented with the duck broth. At that point in the meal there was no way I could drink something with so much salt and fat. I felt bad they had taken all that time to make something I just couldn't bring myself to consume.
Great for foodies for sure. You can only make a reservation if you order the rotisserie duck or the pork shoulder, all other is walk-in only.
