This is a gem of a restaurant tucked away in a basement with an unassuming entrance so it's easy to miss unless you're actively looking for it. Food is always excellent with a busy buzzy atmosphere and generally very good service. On our last visit the service was a bit disjointed but that was unusual. Basso56 well deserves its consistently high ratings on Tripadvisor and is certainly worth a visit when in NYC.
