While staying in NYC for the weekend, we were looking for a quick breakfast that was not going to brea the bank. The Nook was perfect. It is very small, and tables are close together, but the food is very good, and served quickly.

We visited Nook for the first time after visiting friends who live locally. They chose this place as the food is good, prices are reasonable (especially for NYC), it's BYOB (yeah!) and was close by. WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!

Nook is small, maybe 8-9 tables. We had reservations for 7pm, but still had to wait about 30 minutes after arriving. Ramon (the owner-?) is very friendly and inviting. Since it's small it's very loud inside, which is not unusual for a metropolitan restaurant. Food was GREAT. Two of us had the Tuscan Chicken & two had the Filet Mignon. None of us were disappointed. The food was served hot, fresh, appealing and cooked just right. Adding that special bottle of wine we brought with us was just icing on the cake! Three of us also had cauliflower soup, which was very nice.

Service was good and we did not feel rushed while there. I will DEFINITELY return when back in NYC & recommend this restaurant to others.

An excellent little restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. There are about 8 tables total, and you'll probably hear a lot of the conversation at the table next to you. That said, the music is excellent so it's fairly straightforward to drown it out. The proximity instills a real sense of community - and the food is excellent. I particularly recommend the Thai Marinated Grilled Rack of Lamb and the Chicken Kebabs. For dessert, try the Apple Pie. BYOB is a huge plus, as you can stock up on $10-15 bottles of wine at 55 Wines (just up the street) and avoid the alcohol markup. Food at Nook is very reasonably priced at $15-25 per entree.

I've had dozens of great dates and dozens of great dinners with friends here. Could not recommend it more highly.

Just be sure to bring cash.

We've eaten in many restaurants in NY and Nook, is certainly one of the best on 9th Ave. The restaurant is very small and easy to miss (between 50 and 51st street), but the great menu and excellent food make it worth finding.. They have a BYOB policy which is a plus (there is a wine store 2 blocks down) and although the restaurant is small there is a great atmosphere, thanks to the friendly staff and the unpretentious setting. Just be sure you take cash though, as they do not accept credit cards.

During our one week stay in NYC this was the best restaurant-experience! Even though we didn't have a reservation we managed to get a table in the full packed little restaurant. For appertizers we had the tuna tatar and the mushroom cigars, both amazing! The filet mignon was perfect, and served with a generous amount of spinach and hericot vertes. For dessert we had the apple cake, also fantastic, very much apple! The food was over all a 9 1/2. The service was friendly, with a special humor, personal and welcoming! A curiosity is the byob, the restaurant doesn't sell any wine/beer, and payment in cash only!
