“Secret spot, big rep, but merely good”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

So this place has enjoyed quite a reputation, only enhanced by the fact that you have to know to look behind the big red velvet curtains off the lobby of Le Parker Meridien hotel to find it. It's a tiny, order-at-the counter place that gets really packed easily. It is self-consciously grungy, which is part of the idea. However, I do wish they out somebody on clean the tables duty so that you wouldn't have to put up with actual grunginess.

The burgers, in my estimation, are fine, but not spectacular. It was greasy (which isn't by itself a problem) and not that flavorful. I'd much rather have a Shake Shack burger if I wanted to stand in line for one (probably the most fair comparison of type/size/format of a burger) or go to a number of other sit-down places that have service and better food. It's a cute idea, but the experience was a bit lacking.

“Best burger ever!”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Tucked away next to the check in desk at Le Parker Meridien hotel .. long wait, but worth every minute as this was simply the best burger I've ever had in my life! Food price very reasonable - about $7 for a burger, and though the place is quite small, that's part of the charm. We'll be back next trip to NYC!

“Too expensive”
Reviewed December 3, 2013 via mobile

The local has a nice vibe. The problem is the price. Almost 30$ for two cheeseburgers, two drinks and one fries. The food was your homemade average, it really wasn't worth the price.

“Amazing place!”
Reviewed December 3, 2013 via mobile

What a place! You will never ever be able to find this unique burger place without insight info. to New York. Hidden behind a purple curtain at Le Meridien hotel you will the best burger bar in NYC. They only make burgers and they really know how to do it. One burger is around 8 USD. Soft drinks around USD 3. You should really try out this hidden secret. You will be amazed.
