The London NYC is such a cool place to stay. It is one of 'the' places to stay in New York and it is easy to see why.

Right from the outset the hotel creates a glamorous yet modern environment with it's decor and the doormen, who given the number of celebrities staying here I think have to act more like bouncers sometimes than doormen! The Gordon Ramsey restaurant is a super place to have a cocktail or meal and attracts locals as well as hotel guests.

We stayed in a small suite with a friend and found there to be ample room for the three of us. The bathroom was large, modern and had plenty of room for two girls to do their makeup!

The location is brilliant - there are a couple of subway stations within a couple of blocks, Central Park is very close, close to excellent shopping, easy walking distance to Times Square, Broadway and everywhere really.

This is an easy hotel to stay in and is right up there in service and product without being huge and feeling like you are lost in a huge chain hotel.

We stayed at The London NYC on our engagment trip with my wife. From the decor, to the staff, the location, to the affordable price it was top notch. Central park was less than a few minute walk, and times square was the same. It was also located near the subway as well. All in all in was great and we will return.

The lobby is spare & elegant. We loved the size of our suite & the ample closet space with dressing room. The gray tones were very Dior. The furniture in the living room is stylish but not entirely comfortable. The automated curtains were a plus. The lighting was nice as you could choose from overhead lighting, accent lights & a variety of lamps set at different levels. The mirrored French doors separating the living area & bedroom were perfect when one of us wanted to use the living area without disturbing the sleeping person.

The bed & down pillows were very comfortable. We enjoyed sleeping on the lovely sheets & under the perfect down duvet (the fill was neither stifling nor too light). The dressing room was especially appreciated when we got ready to go out for the day & again in the evenings. It also provided the perfect space to keep our luggage, clothing, shoes & shopping bags out of sight.

The clean, minimalist design of the white toned bathroom was chic. The rectangular Irving Rice magnifying mirror was a welcome detail. The abundance of white towels was nice, but the robes were a bit coarse & heavy. The water pressure in the shower was excellent! You can choose between being doused by the overhead rain shower or using the handheld shower. We found both handy. We didn't mind the absence of a tub as we have enormous soaking tubs at home & don't entirely trust the cleanliness of most hotel tubs. Having a vanity table with appropriate lighting would have made the dressing area perfect.

We received free breakfast every day via Amex Platinum along with tea but can't comment as we were too lazy to attend the former & not in the hotel at the appropriate times to enjoy the latter. We were not upgraded to a better suite as the hotel was fully booked (this is usually a great perk).

We did encounter a couple of problems during our time at the London. We were quite surprised our room was not made up during one day of our stay after we specifically called Housekeeping to let them know we were going out & would like our room made up as we were leaving for the day. We left at one & returned six hours later to an untouched room. Housekeeping did make up our room & freshen everything up while we were at dinner. I've never had this experience at a hotel. We are used to receiving twice daily room service including a proper turndown service (duvet pulled back on both sides, curtains drawn, pleasant music playing, bathroom freshened, fresh towels, new glasses, fresh ice, dustbins emptied & chocolates or other goodies on the pillow). One other small complaint is that the hotel Wifi is not secure. It is gratis.

Room Service goofed our lunch order. They sent up a replacement relatively quickly with apologies. The food was quite tasty & hot. Portions were generous. We recommend the Club Sandwich with Egg.

Despite the glitches discussed, overall service was excellent. We were immediately switched to a non-smoking room on a different floor after the "non-smoking" room we checked into reeked of cigarettes. We ordered more pillows around 2am & they were delivered within 5 minutes. I discovered I forgot my toothbrush at 3am & another was delivered minutes later with toothpaste. Valet brought our car & our stored luggage around promptly even though we neglected to call ahead. The staff at the front desk was pleasant upon checking in & out.

The location of the hotel is great if you have business in midtown, like Moma or want to shop at Bergdorf's, et al. We were also pleased DB Bistro Moderne is within walking distance (the original DB burger is utterly decadent & worth every minute on the elliptical to burn it off).

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the London. If you go in without regal expectations, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Stayed 3 nights at the London (Thurs-Sun) this past weekend. We were mainly in town for some Broadway shows. The location is great for the Theatre district. An easy walk to just about any theatre, but out of the noise and craziness of the Times Square area. It's also an easy walk to Rockefeller Center/5th Avenue, Central Park, Lincoln Center. Rooms are huge, especially by NYC standards. Room decor is a little funky (I wouldn't want it in my home), but it's fun to stay in for a few days, so relax and enjoy it. Room was very quiet, no street noise at all. To the reviewers who complained about no tub in bath: I don't care how well a bathtub has been cleaned, I've heard some pretty gross stories from my hotel friends about what some guests have done in the tub. Be happy with a fantastic, huge, double headed shower. Plenty of pressure and hot water every time. Free, reliable wi-fi = perfect. Friendly, efficient check in. Biggest stars were the concierge staff. I've stayed at alot of hotels and these guys were the most professional, courteous and friendly. Used them for all my restaurant recommendations and reservations and all were great. When I heard what some of the other guests were asking the concierge to do for them, I'm even more impressed with their calm demeanor and friendly attitude. Even housekeeping staff I passed in the hallway said hello. Very nice touch. Booked the room through Amex Platinum, so breakfast bar was included. Very good service there and many breakfast options (they had me at chocolate croissants). Had it not been included, the cost would be $60 for 2 people, which I would not have paid. There are literally hundreds of options close by, so not a problem. Big room, excellent location, great service, reasonable room price - what more do you need?

This hotel has an excellent central location near Moma, Carnegie Hall, Central Park and several subway lines. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There is a restaurant which comes highly recommended, but avoid breakfast in the breakfast restaurant: small buffet, this produces unlovelingly cooked scrambled egg, regulation pancakes (not homemade odd shaped ones) and crap coffee. All in all, go out for breakfast, otherwise great hotel.

We travelled with our teenage daughter and needed a hotel room with space. The London NYC ticketed all the boxes. Spacious room, large bathroom, two t.v.s and perfect location to explore NY.

I really liked this hotel. It was located about a block away from the MoMa and was in walking distance from the Theater District. Check-in was quick and easy and my room was fabulous. It was huge! The colors were soothing (light blues, grey and white). The living room area had a funky couch and a flat screen tv. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was really nice (great water pressure and water temp). The bedroom had a nice bed (I forget if it was king or queen); very comfy. As everywhere I have travelled, the mini bar wasn't cheap ($8 for a beer), but it could have been a lot more considering I was in a nice hotel in NYC.
The drinks in the downstairs bar were tasty, however the food service at the bar was not so great (mind you it was 11pm). My friend got sick after eating her club sandwich. I am not sure if it was the food or the drinking or a combination of the two.
Next time I need to stay overnight in NYC, I will definitely stay here. It was totally worth the money.
