A fantastic location, central to everything and within walking distance for most. We stayed in a suite and it was brilliant. Spacious, great views, very clean and well appointed and one of the best rooms I've stayed in. Service was okay, not great but then we did not need them. Would stay again without doubt.

Stayed in the London the week after Christmas for some shopping and shows. There are many great things to say about this hotel - great location with easy access to Times Square, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, etc. This is a great midtown location. The service is exceptional, the rooms are very large for NYC and Gordon Ramsey's restaurant is convenient and fun.

The cons, however, are somewhat inexplicable. I stay at hotels many times each year and I cannot understand why a hotel would not offer a coffeemaker in the room. Simply inexplicable. Also, if you stay on floors 25 or higher you will have to take a separate set of elevators and these are very slow at times, particularly early in the morning.

There is so much to like about this place. It's not auspicious like a Four Seasons or the Ritz Central Park, but it is reasonably priced, has huge rooms, and is a great hub for a trip to New York City. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Get a high room and you will have outstanding views, some of the best in the city.

We stayed at the London NYC for a week over Christmas. The room was big and the bed very comfortable. The staff were very polite. We did not eat here though as it was very expensive. There are no coffee making facilities so if you are like us and like a coffee first thing in the morning, unless you want to pay $10 for a coffee to be bought to your room, you will have to go out to get one. We had a problem with loud banging around every half hour all night long. The receptionist said it was probably the pipes, which wasn't terribly helpful. The hotel is in a great location as it is off the main street and so quieter than those on the main drag but still in walking distance of most of the attractions. The bathroom was a good size, we specifically requested a bath, so we had a shower and a bath. The complimentary toiletries were very nice.

Following an excellent experience here last year, we have returned for 6 nights.
Without hesitation, we give The London, once more, the 'excellent' rating. The receptionist checking us in gets full marks for the 'welcome back' and the speedy and efficient check-in process. Our room, on the 51st floor, with its wonderful views, was a truly relaxing environment. Housekeeping was first rate. The Bar was a hive of activity but notwithstanding this the staff always managed to find a table for us, and our guests, and to take our order with minimal wait. The concierge service, which we used frequently for dinner and entertainment bookings, was outstanding. We will be back. We strongly recommend tripadvisor readers to stay here.

Room Tip: We recommend a room high up, facing the Hudson River/Central Park, because of the views. The lifts a...

I stayed at the London for one night in a regular one bed suite. I was on the 27th floor. The view was of neighboring buildings which looked like offices and other hotels. I could see the tops of trees in the distance from nearby central park. The check in was quick and effecient. The room spotless and huge! Especially for NYC standards. The furniture was modern and in good condition. There were two flat screen tv's one in the small sitting area/living room and the other in the bedroom. The bathroom was my favorite. It's huge with double sinks, a seperate shower/tub and robes (that come folded and wrapped in plastic so that you know they've been cleaned prior to your arrival). I'm always concerned about the cleanliness of robes that are already hanging in a closet when I arrive. I ate at Maze restaurant and it was great (had to have Gordon Ramsey's famous scallops and risotto dishes as appetizers and they didnt dissapoint). Check out was also quick. It took two seconds. My bill which they left under the door was accurate. No problems at all with this hotel. They stored my luggage after checkout so that I could walk to 5th Avenue and do some shopping before leaving. I have stayed at other NYC hotels including the W Hotel in Midtown, and the Waldorf Astoria, and there is no competition. I will def try to book with the London again in the future.

I love the size of the rooms at the London! They are large by and city's standard and especially large for NYC. Location for midtown is also good.
I was expecting more for the room service but it really wasn’t very good at all. The room service menu is fairly small compared to the larger menu at the Gordon Ramsay restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. If you go online you can see the menu for the restaurant. While I was ordering room service, I asked if I could order items from the restaurant menu. Since it’s the same kitchen, they were able to bring items from the restaurant menu to my room. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very good.

Stayed here in December for 4 nights for my husbands 40th birthday. I had emailed the hotel prior to our stay to ask for a suite on one of the higher floors and also for a room with a bath. I also mentioned that we were travelling from the UK for a special occasion and was told that a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates would be left in our suite.
Reception staff were very helpful and also noticed my husbands birthday when the looked at his passport when we checked in. When we arrived in our room our requests had been met, high floor and bath as well as shower along with the Prosecco and chocolate. Short while later room service brought up a bottle of wine and fruit bowl organised by reception as a 40th treat despite already having had Prosecco already.. The room was lovely and the bed very comfy. The bath was really nice and deep too.
The hotel location was amazing, a few minute walk from so many sights.
We didn't eat in the hotel as so many lovely places to eat nearby. Highly recommend 21 Club and the Capital Grille, Time Life building, both only a few minute walk away and serving amazing food. The old castle pub over the road is also great for a cheaper meal or bar snacks, as is the Irish pub round the corner on 7th Ave (tasty burgers at lunch)
It is a shame about the lack of tea and coffee making facilities but we used to get drinks from the coffee shop on the corner which were really nice, but cheap.. They also do amazing cakes.
In the hotel all staff we spoke to we're polite, helpful and friendly.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly stay at the London NYC when we bring our kids in a few years.
