“What a classy joint.”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

My daughter and I stayed at the beautiful London Hotel on 54th street. Our room was a suite, 500 square feet. I think that is the smallest room they have. Two big flat screen TV's and a sitting room. Perfect location. It's a few blocks away from the crazy Times Square area. Luxury in every corner. A double shower. Soft bathrobes. Thick cotton sheets. Free Wi-Fi. My only gripe is that I had to pay $3 to print my boarding pass. They should let you print your boarding pass for free. It probably costs them about 12 cents.

I will go back.

We are in to day 3 of our stay. I am very icky when it comes to hotels. I have many star wood and hyatt points. I have no points or association with this hotel so I was a little hesitant to stay here without my points perks however, I am so glad we did! We arrived after a red eye flight and prayed our room would be ready in the early morning, it was! We have 2 kids age 10 and 8 and was prepared to get 2 rooms if needed. It was not needed. There is a bedroom and living room. You can close the fence doors to the bedroom. To separate the two if you choose. Our two kids shred the modern long couch. They even provided us linens to make the couch into an extra long bed. The shower has two shower heads so two people can shower at once! The toilet space is in the shower room but somewhat private. There was a work desk for the hubby to work at. There was also room in the vast closet space for our 4 suitcases! This place is wonderful. The walls throughout the halls and elevator are suede. At first I thought they were walls that needed painted until felt them and was very impressed. The gym is great, about 8 treadmills, kickboxing bags, elipticals, weights and press equipment. They also have bottle water, towels And headphones. This is by far better than all surrounding hotels.

The location is great-easy walk to theater district. The suites are spacious which is unusual for a major metro, The staff are fun friendly and we felt very safe here. This hotel uses the "no cart" service for their staff for daily maid service and turn down was it excellent and "invisible" . We booked AMX and received a one free night with three, daily continental breakfast and complementary afternoon tea. The AMX program states if you purchase a lower floor suite you get and upgrade and a fee night. When I booked the lower level suite was not available but they upgraded me to a suite with a truly amazing view. The park, the river and west over the city. The free breakfast was sufficient but we walked around the corner to the Astro diner every other day for a hot breakfast This will be my hotel of choice for my next trip to NYC.

Room Tip: This hotel stands tall and looms over other buildings around it. The higher floor have really great...

Overall everything about staying at The London NYC while in Manhattan was very accommodating. The rooms which are at the London are a decent size, and by Manhattan hotel room standards I would say they are large. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was good. (It is very near the MoMA museum).

I had my 3 year old with me for a 4 day stay at the London. I cannot believe how kind & helpful the staff was. I never had a moment of "how do I do XXX" (eg. at the airport, I wonder how I'm going to lug a stroller, 2 suitcases, carseat, etc.). I always had help. The food was fabulous, the service is unparalleled. Ask for Mike at the Concierge, he's just incredible. The doormen even kept an eye on my wild toddler as I chatted with some associates (only a few feet away). Blows my mind...I've traveled the world and this was the hotel I've enjoyed most.
My daughter and I will be back. Thank you so much for making us feel at home during our stay!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are fairly similar...suites. I believe the only difference is two twins vs. a king...

Upon arriving to the hotel from 12/28/11-1/03/12 we experienced the warm welcome of the Doorman and front desk, the decor, ambiance was great. I was contacted by the Ambassador Mr. Fernando Gonzalez whom assisted us throughout our stay with any requests. Due to the attention to detail provided my family and I will return.

Thank you,

Juan De Los Santos

I've stayed at the London approximately 10 times over the past few years. The rooms are fantastic. Each room is a suite, with a large working area, separated by a door to the bedroom. The bathroom is great, too, with an excellent shower. The furnishings are lovely, the bed is so, so comfortable. It can be pricey, but you can get really good deals, especially mid-week. The location is great if you need to be in midtown. The people are remarkably friendly for such a trendy place - they always smile and welcome me back at the front desk. Bottom line: I have no complaints about this hotel. it's near-Ritz quality, and generally much more affordable (but not inexpensive).

Room Tip: Building fronts 56th Street, middle of the block, so no real noise to worry about in any room I'...
