When you think of New York City you have lots of hotel options. Uptown? Midtown? Downtown? The Village? SOHO? Tribeca? Wall St. ? etc. etc. etc.
The trip I planned was for me and my 20 year old son who had never really had a NYC trip. I have to admit it wasn't easy to pick a spot. On advice of my brother, I decided on the SOHO area but then found the Duane St. Hotel not too far from SOHO. It was a great find!
We were just a few blocks away from City Hall, the Brooklyn Bridge, the New World Trade Center, SOHO shopping, Little Italy, Chinatown, jazz clubs, and hundreds of restaurants. To get north, we were 3 short blocks from the subway.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Jed, who I felt did a great job under the duress of my sometimes relentless questioning on where to go to dinner.
The room had 2 double beds and had a nice modern Scandinavian style. It wasn't huge but not the typical NYC closet they call a hotel room.
My son and I had a blast on our trip to NYC and we thank the Duane Street Hotel and staff for being a big part of the trip's success.

Room Tip: New little deli and take out restaurant on Church street was a bargain for breakfast.

This trip to NYC was a girlfriend trip. My son recommended we stay At The Duane. I'm so glad we did! The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood and has easy access to other areas. I would highly recommend staying here...you won't be disappointed! I'll definitely go back!

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and it was very quiet.

The Duane Street Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in New York. There is a very accommodating staff as well as well appointed rooms which are comfortable and immaculate. Tribeca is a neighborhood area of the City and has an international flavor. There are authentic German, French, Italian, Belgium, Sushi, etc. restaurants within walking distance, so the location of this hotel is ideal. The little touches in the room , including an umbrella and a lighted make-up mirror, are a few of the touches that make you smile at the thoughtfulness.

Room Tip: All the rooms we have stayed in are quiet and well maintained.

This was the second time I staid in Duane St. Hotel, which I chose the first time for its location and type (boutique hotel). I came back because I liked it the first time, and didn't regret it. The hotel is located in one of the more classy parts of town, and they add an additional layer of boutique class and personal service to it so that you wouldn't forget your stay in the nicest city of the world.

Room Tip: I would recommend getting a room as high up as possible. In NYC the noise of traffic early in the mo...

A little gem of a FRIENDLY hotel. Tribeca's best kept secret! Location is perfect, lots of great places to eat locally all within walking distance. Hotel staff are really friendly, some of the best in NYC for sure! Room was great, on fifth floor, so very quiet. if you are looking for a home away from home, look no further!

I chose this hotel for its location, so glad that I did! The Duane Street Hotel did not dissapoint. From the ease of check in, to the cleanliness and comfort of the room, to the friendly, laid back and accomodating staff. This hotel, without a doubt, exceeded my expectations.

I booked a lead in room catagory, and although it was a wee bit on the small side, it was very comfortable, clean and had everything that I needed in ammenities. The free WiFi was an added bonus.

Do yourself a favour, next time you're in NYC and want to stay in the Tribeca are, book yourself a room here. You won't be dissapointed.

Room Tip: Book early and take advantage of any pre-paid discounted rates!

As a professional Corporate Event planner, I see the inside of hotels far too often.
So when I come across a property doing an outstanding job... I like to give them the
credit they deserve.

The Duane Street Hotel is a wonderful hotel. The location is perfect for a stay in
downtown New York City. Tons of restaurants and lovely shops. An easy walk
into Soho and the Village. The public spaces are clean and well presented.
Yes, the guest rooms are a little on the small size, but extremely clean and very well
designed. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom has great lighting!

However, it's the staff that makes this hotel what it is! Smiling, friendly and eager to
assist. Some NYC hotel boast superior staffing that comes with an "attitude". There's no
pretentiousness here. The Duane Street staff are professional, knowledgeable and well
trained in the "art" of concierge.... so important for first time NYC travelers.

I will return to the Duane Street Hotel and recommend it completely!!!
