“Fantastic hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel as a surprise for my 30 th birthday - I was not disappointed - the hotel was fantastic in a brilient location and extremely clean . Our room was on floor 25 and had a lovely view - I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to New York - however be aware the prices in the bar are extortionate avoid if you can
Had a fantastic holiday in a brilliant hotel

The room was very nice but .....no coffee pot.......no hot water for the first person to shower....second person finally had hot water ..... Had to pay for wi-fi, pillows way too soft . The pros .....location to Times Square , theater district , nbc , perfect . Price we paid (under $200) perfect .

I've traveled to NYC several times and for touring purposes I like to stay in Midtown Manhattan. I've stayed at the Marriot Marquis, Crowne Plaza, Waldorf Astoria, and now the Hilton twice. It's become my favorite place to stay because the location (on 6th Ave.) is slightly away from the craziness of Broadway, yet still very accessible--only a couple of blocks away. The price is usually about $100 less per night than the Marquis or Crowne Plaza. The hotel is a five minute walk to Central Park, five minutes to Broadway, five minutes to shopping on 5th Avenue, and a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway stop.
However, while the location can't be beat it is lacking in a few amenities that suggest a higher end property namely, free Wifi (who doesn't have that these days), morning paper, and breakfast (although I've since learned it is available in some rooms...it was never offered to me). There was also peeling wallpaper in the room which really isn't a big deal granted the age and constant use of the room, but it might be something that would deter some. All in all a great property at a decent price ($369/nt) for NYC!

Enquired at whereabouts of internet to print boarding pass Reception staff pointed the direction with no words spoken. Every dealing with staff was short & sharp with no genuine interest shown. Room was noisy due to elevators very loud. No tea or coffee facilities in room or reception. No free WIFI. Breakfast was an additional $40 minimum payment per sitting. Considering the overall price this hotel was no way value for money. This may be due to Easter weekend but is no excuse for the attitude & general lack of service

Room Tip: Possibly pay extra for a higher quality

Green Features: No policy on laundering Towels was displayed therefore we could not make cleaners aware if we needed change or not

Excellent staying (for 3 nts) in HILTON MIDTOWN: the hotel is magnificent, modern and perfect for business and/or tourist customers. My room (recently renovated), located at 29th floor with a impressive view on NY skyline, was very large, cleanest, well refurbished (including bathroom) for the relax and a very good staying. The location is literally superb: HILTON is in the NY heart, closest 5th Avenue, Central Park, MOMA and whatsoever most famous sites in NYC. Considering the usual hotels level in NYC, HILTON is certainly on the top, with no doubt; and with an excellent price for value.
The reception (and concierge as well) was really on high level: fast and professional, as well friendly and kind (I had the free opportunity to postpone the checkout upto 3 pm…!!) . The hall is constantly checked by ‘security’ and it’s noise or crowded but very very pleasant having a cosy atmosphere.
I’m usually being in NYC yearly (and I have been in NYC six times…), so this will be definitely ‘my hotel’ here everytime. Highly highly recommended.

I stayed at the New York Hilton Midtown for five days at a convention. The location was fabulous. A ten minute walk to Macys', ten minutes to Central Park, 5 minutes to Carnegie Deli!, a block from Rockefeller Center and across the street from Radio City Music Hall. I walked to Time Square in heels because it was so close. On one of my journeys from the hotel I got tired, so I took a horse drawn carriage back to my room. Now that was a memory!
My room was spacious and clean. The elevator was there instantly when I needed it- on the 27th floor. I had endless hot water in a lovely shower any time of day. I had breakfast here once, and it was $45.00 including a mandatory 20% tip for a buffet. ( I didn't eat there twice.) I would certainly go back to this hotel. They have earned my return visit.

Largest hotel in NYC and close to everything and feels like a Holiday Inn. The Hilton name should mean something. No coffee in the room or at least on the floor? No newspaper either. We stayed in the regular and executive rooms. Executive floors much better and you get free Wifi. The food was good and wait staff competent. Be careful though - lines for restaurants and executive lounge (which is on first floor -not near the rooms???) Nancy at front desk very nice. Rooms were very hot - we had to order a fan and open windows. We were told that was it - the heat was on and no way to change that. The halls full of carts was a distraction. Children playing in halls and elevators were loud and potentially dangerous. These may be facility design or management issues. The staff is dedicated, kind and experienced. Just some crazy customer care problems that are not their fault. Will not be back.
