Even though this is an older hotel its in a great location. The Hilton could use a remodel but everything is very clean and comfortable. It's very close to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music, and even Times Square.

Great place but a bit expensive at over $400 per day. Of course it is in the center of New York, world's most expensive neighborhood. walking distance tyo most shopping, and other site seeing places, restaurants, theaters, Time square, and everything else New York is famous for.

This is the second largest hotel in the world with 2200 rooms. We were fortunate to be able to escape to their executive lounge to have some peace and quiet. There is a tiny bar area where one can sit adjacent to the lobby, but other than that, nowhere to meet or enjoy other's company. It is a charmless hotel but the personnel is extremely well-trained. The lines in front of the desk for the common mortal are staggering, but we were lucky to be able to access the Hilton Honors desk and have excellent service. The really black point is the standard bathroom in the room. One can barely sit on the toilet in the normal fashion because it is placed so closely to the wall and the sink and the door. The only possible remedy to the tiny rooms and the microscopic bathrooms would be to a eliminate half of the rooms in the hotel to make things more comfortable for guests. This is an unlikely scenario because they would no longer be able to boast the dubious status of being second largest hotel in the world.

If you're looking for a quality hotel in a great location Hilton Ave of the Americas is just that. If you want to stay away from crowds and tourists this is not your spot. Exactly what you'd expect from any Hilton hotel. Clean, friend and good service. Certainly not the Four Season or Waldorf, but for the price not bad. My room was clean and up to date. Had one mechanical issue with the faucet, but easily resolved.

Booked this hotel for the thanksgiving weekend but had to move to another hotel! Guess what? They switch the AC to heat only in the fall and you cannot cool down your room. True story. Who would have guessed it? When I complained,I was told to open my windows.... What? In NYC! Really? What a mess. The only saving grace is that the manager on duty comped day two and reduced day one by $100. We are currently in the jw Marriott and loving every minute. Real air conditioning... A novel concept.

This hotel is close to almost everything we wanted to do. We traveled with our 3 and 6 yr old children and were able to walk everywhere. Shopping, Central Park, Radio City, Times Square were a short walk. Service was exceptional. Rooms were decent size and clean. When we return to NYC, we plan on staying here again.

Like everyone says, the location is great. Went to the Radio City Christmas show and had about a 3 minute walk a few blocks south of the hotel. The room was plenty big for me, my wife and two daughters (ages 5 and 7). Clean room and bathroom. Quick check in and friendly staff. The elevators were slow, but it's a big hotel. I would stay there again.
