Description: The word is out: Marlon Abela, the restaurateur behind London's Michelin one-star with two-stars rising Greenhouse, has opened a new modern Italian restaurant A Voce ("word of mouth") on the edge of chic Madison Square Park. The emphasis is on grown-up, deeply delicious Italian cookery set against a back drop of Italian style and organic East Coast elements.

“Great food, great location”
Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

Our concierge at The Palace recommended this Italian restaurant. My 14 year old daughter and I enjoyed a great meal before seeing a play. I started with the cured sardine salad, which my daughter ate most of. She had a fig and goats cheese salad that I didn't try, but she proclaimed it to be "the best ever". We both had fresh pasta for our mains and couldn't have been happier with our dishes. A Voce has several nice wines by the glass. We sat outside and enjoyed a nice New York evening. The service was friendly and attentive. My daughter insists that we return and I agree.

“Excellent meal with top notch service”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of restaurant for a family get together on a recent visit to NYC. Imaginative Italian menu, prepared with flair. Our waiter and the sommelier were so knowledgeable about each dish and the wine choices. The service was so gracious, we all (six of us) felt like honored guests. I look forward to a return visit.

“Beautiful outdoor dining”
Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

Lovely oasis on Madison and 26th street. While the food was extraordinarily expensive, the service was exemplary. The outdoor dining on a warm, late summer evening, was the perfect compliment to being in an office all day. While they don't have burrata (what I was dying for), they have something close - and with truffles! However, it was supposed to have zucchini flowers and ours had none. Atmosphere outweighed any shortcomings.

“Deserving of the Michelin Star”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Great service. i wish i remembered the Maitre d's name, He was beyond phenomenal . He was honest, he was smart, and he was a foodie at heart. We could tell, he gave us great advice on other top places to check out. We mentioned we had reservations for Jean George and as he said " one of the best meals of his life" , and this is coming from a competitor, but a competitor who knows good food. Everything was great, helpful, service amazing.. The food was top notch.

I just can't say enough for the Maitre D, he made this experience what it was. Definitely can see why they have a Michelin Star.

“A Voce Madison--Really great place”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

We went there because of location---and because it had one Michelin star---and, also, because it participated in New York Restaurant Week, offeringt luch for $24.01. These guys have the formular down right--- and also, they are smart. Lots of places don't put their best feet forward with their restaurant-week specials, but A voce did everything up just right, as if you were paying "retail." Food, presenation, service, all top notice. Nothing about the lunch could have been improved. We will go back, even when we have to pay "retail."
