Just by luck we were walking, my wife and I, by the Plaza Hote around lunch timel and saw the sign for the food court. We decided to investgate and disscovered and extremely interesting array of food vendors. After walking around we decided to choose the Piada first because it seemed a little more quiet, stlightly removed from the main area, it also had table and chairs which was not the case everywhere. It was a little less busy and the menu appealed to us, My wife chose a mushroom ravioli dish and I selected a cold salmon salad. We had to place our order at the counter but the plates were delivered to our table. The service was fast and courteous. My wife and I shared both dishes. Both were extremely tasty. It was lite and just enough for lunch. The price was quiteaffordable. It was a great find.

This is a recently opened Italian restaurant located in the food hall of the Plaza. After walking around all the food hall, we returned to this one because we thought the menu looked unique and the counter and reclaimed hard wood seating area was welcoming. The owners are very friendly-we just ordered at the counter and they brought it out to us in very short time. The food was delicious!! My daughter had an Americana piadine (flat bread sandwich) which she loved-it had chicken, sundried tomatoes, mozzarella and a spicy mayonnaise. I had the tagliere di formaggi which was warm fresh flat bread and a selection of 5 Italian cheeses ranging from soft to hard-all were wonderful, even the blue cheese, which is not usually my thing. It also had a selection of fig, honey and marmalade to spread on the bread before the cheese-something I have never tried before but loved!
I wanted to buy some of the fig spread, but they have only been opened for 2 months and haven't had the time to get their products available for sale.

the famous italian Street food dealer Piada has a opened a new retail store right in the chic food hall at the Plaza Hotel on 5th and 58th.
The fantastic taste of italian street food gets chic! and it deserves it!
