Modern, open floor plan, moderate noise level. Diners ranged from after work crowd to trendy 20-something's to families to couples. Got to sample lots thanks to friendly neighbor diners:) rock shrimp app was the best thing I had all night, along with the Australian wagyu steak, it melts in your mouth. Beef carpaccio app was very good as was the California roll. I had the buri bop bowl with the yellowtail and it was good but a little to sweet for my taste with the sesame sauce they use to prepare it table side. My friend had a salmon entree and she said it was a bit oily but still pretty good. Overall decent prices for the nice restaurant that it is, would definitely go back, even if only for that rock shrimp!

The whole family was excited for our visit to Morimoto's on our trip to NYC. We were welcomed and taken to our table. The decor is modern and pleasing. Our waiter, Toran, was excellent. He answered questions and made good recommendations. We ordered the rock shrimp appetizer and sushi combination for dinner. All was well prepared and delicious. Toran was very patient with the antics of the kids...and us. All told it was a great dinner.

We will return when back in NYC.

Visited Morimoto's on a business trip. I was able to sample lots of different tastes and I just can't say enough about how unique and absolutely delicious the meal was. The Sushi, the seafood, the pork, it was just all absolutely wonderful. Very expensive, so not something I could do very often, but if you're looking for an outstanding meal with some unique and interesting twists, this is it.

Sesame Blossom drink - very good
Edamame - very good - fresh - large portion
Morimoto Sashimi - ok
Whitefish Capraccio - excellent appetizer - a must order
Sea Bass - very good
Duck,Duck,Duck - good - need larger portion
Yellowtail Maki - good
Cheesecake Souffle - excellent dessert - a must order for dessert
service lapses at times where dirty dishes are left on the table for unnecessary long periods, water glasses
not filled in a timely manner, would prefer to have been seated at a booth instead of a long table next to others,
would only go on a less crowded evening in the future,

If you like sushi, sashimi and fish this is the place. Morimoto's is exactly what one should expect -- excellent food and outstanding service. And the cost reasonable for a high end restaurant. A big restaurant that doesn't feel crowded. Very comfortable seating. I would return again and again
