Traveling a lot of countries with the family, from USA to Asia, we have tried a lot of Suhshi everywhere as we love it. So, we were very excited to try the Morimoto, supposed to be the best in New York.... What a joke ! Except the place which is nice but for couple and not for family, the rest is a nightmare. Service, incredibly long, we have waited 1h30' to get our first Sashimi. The quality is nothing but the average, but for the price $8 for a slice of sashimi of Tuna, I was expecting something fantastic... It is not. For people knowing "Sushi Bar" in Saïgon, don't compare....
A place to not to be !

So here we were on the Saturday night before Christmas. Went to the movies in Chelsea and it's 9:45PM. Called the restaurant since it's in the Neighborhood. Receptionist says "come on over right now, we have 2 places at the sushi bar". We enter the space from hanging red curtains and are surprised by a huge space and every table and the sushi bar packed with mostly 20 and 30 something's just having a great time. We were greeted and seated at an enormous sushi bar with probably 10 chefs cutting, slicing, chopping. We ordered both sushi and from the menu. Service from several servers and food runners was helpful, attentive and friendly.

We had wonderful evening, ate some really excellent food, drank sake, and were energized by the crowd who were clearly having a great time. Lastly, I commented to my wife that we were the oldest people there. That was more than OK with us as we joined into the spirit of the evening. The cost was as one should expect for an operation and food quality like this. If you are searching for a place to dine, just have a sushi snack or drink late night---This is a terrific restaurant!

Have just come back after what can only be described as the he best ending to our trip to New York . We took our three girls out for dinner and were taken care of superbly by our server Adam who advised and helped us through the delicious menu. Presentation and taste at Morimoto is worth even penny. Look forward to coming back

Excellent, friendly service. Great food, though pricey. Loved the crab appetizer. I went with two friends for cocktails. Cost abut a hundred bucks. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were there on a Sunday evening, early. A great time to go, because the place is VERY popular!
