A Michelin rated (one floret) restaurant that has an incredible prix fixe lunch for $39 served in a very comfortable room with impeccable service whose attention to detail is exquisite. The meal itself was outstanding, actually we were really quite full by the time we dusted up our antipasti, but the flavours were so delicious we wiped down every crumb and morsel. For the serious oenophile they have an outstanding wine service that enables one to take advantage of great vintages. We were on our way to midtown shopping and opted for the simpler choices by the glass to compliment our meal.
The only downside in my opinion is the rather dour decor. The room does not have the sense of style of one of my all time NYC favourites Jean George, but nevertheless it is a must for serious eaters. We were so delighted that we are seriously contemplating the venue for an intimate family dinner in the fall to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they have perfectly sized private rooms to suit most events.

This restaurant is a foodies heaven! Everything from the moment you walk in, (best gimblet I have ever had), to the never ending procession of mini dessert delights is exquisite.

Both the food and the service were increadable. The chef Melisa covered the world standards with what was proposed as a tasting menu. In addition the atmosphere is perfect as well, and last but not least at all the usual creschendo noice typical for american restaurants was not there.

A great Italian restaurant in the Meat Packing District. The tables are well-spaced with a high ceiling, and great ambience, it is an excellent place to carry out a hearty conversation with minimal distraction from other tables.
First comes the amuse-bouche, consisting of a small cup of cream of cauliflower soup, a small cube of chicken and celery sandwich and crispy cheese wrapped around cured meat. All of them were delicious and a great way to kick start the dinner, craving for more.
I chose the five course tasting dinner over the eight course, as I expected American portions are quite large.
On recommendation of a friend who previously visited the restaurant, I chose grilled octopus tentacles as appetizer. It is the best octopus I have ever tasted. This dish itself is worth a detour to visit Del Posto. The aroma of the grilled octopus was evident ten feet away, even before it was served at the table. It was grilled to perfection, soft and tender inside, and crispy but not charred on the outside.
The second and third course consist of two pasta dishes, shared amongst the table. The first pasta was a flat sheet of pasta, done just right, smooth and soft, but retaining its texture, carrying the truffle and cheese sauce. The second pasta was a spaghetti with Dungeness crab and Jalapeno pepper. The spaghetti was al dente, and Dungeness Crab was tender and sweet, and worked well with the heat of the Jalapeno pepper. The sauce was tangy and spicy, and overall a good choice if you can stand the heat.
The main course I chose was off the menu and a special for Easter, lamb cooked three ways, the lamb shoulder and slow cooked lamb shank worked well with the yoghurt sauce and the lentils with the mint sauce. The grilled small rack of lamb was tender, and overall a great lamb dish.
The dessert was a minor disappointment with the panna cotta, but the complimentary puff pastry with cream and the almond biscuits, followed by a hot cup of Earl Grey was a great way to finish this spectacular meal.
This will be one of the restaurants I will keep coming back to time and again when I visit New York.

Everything about this restaurant is great. The food, the wine and the service are all top notch. Our waiter even took us for a tour of the kitchen. Cool!
