Description: The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

“Yum!”

Fresh sushi and very good service. As anything good in NYC, it was crowded and tight, but well worth it for the food!

“Great Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Wow. The food was quite excellent, but more importantly was the ambiance. Its a really nice eating experience with excellent service. I bought a steak dish and was satisfied. I like my steaks well done and they brought it out as I like it--sizzling! The waiters were quite helpful and courteous and they deserved the nice tip that I gave to them. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend for a business meeting or a nice night out.

“Delicis!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Love this restaurant in Melbourne, Australia and wanted to try out the New York one - reservations done easily from Australia. When we arrived we were taken straight to our table - a comfy side booth upstairs. Although there was a lot of tables I didn't feel crowded or cramped. Our waiter gave us great suggestions for our meal ahead (the soft shell crab with watermelon - divine!!!) our glasses for both alcohol and water were constantly kept topped up and the food came out in perfect timed intervals. I never felt rushed during my dining experience!!!
The chocolate fondant dessert with raspberry and wasabi sorbet truly amazing - highly recommended!!!
My only gripe is the coffee (coming from Melbourne where we have quite a bit of coffee snobbery) not that great, especially for an establishment of this caliber..... Otherwise I loved the full dining experience.... Highly recommended!!

“Classic. Great location. Bring your wallet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Of course everyone knows Nobu is expensive, so with that being said, go prepared and enjoy yourself. The bar scene at 8pm on a weeknight is packed with professionals, visitors, couples, etc. Great mix. We dined upstairs in the dining room. Service was average. I would expect more from Nobu but the sushi makes up for it.

“Consistently Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

Even though it has been around for a long time, Nobu is consistently excellent and the 57th St location is great because it is easy to have a dinner with more than 4 people at your table as the restaurant is very well equipped to handle. Sushi is still some of the best in the city
