We decided to visit the Empire State building by night and the top of the Rock by day. In retrospect, we might have done it also the other way around to get the Empire State in a night shot.

We visited the top of the Rock observation Deck with our NY Pass. It meant free entry and no queue for us. So if you have NY pass; flash it and skip the queue. This does not work in Empire State.

You have 3 observation decks. My advice go right up to the top one. You get the best views, can take the best pictures and lots of people don't figure out you get 3 decks, so you have not many people lingering around. We skipped the Rockefeller exhibit due to a lack of time, but not sure you will miss a lot. You came for the view right?

Enjoy the great View of Central Park. In my opinion Top of The Rock was the best place to take it in from above.

Also the view on Empire State and World Trade one is amazing. Just watch the pics.

Afterwards we strolled through the rockefeller center and visited various shops and the NBC gift shop. Must do for any fans of NBC shows like Friends.

“It's the views of the Empire and Central Park...”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

When you wonder whether you should go to top of the Empire or the Rockefeller, just ask yourself... which building's more impressive from the outside? Well the Empire is of course. Which means you should ascend the Rockefeller because then you'll actually be able to see the Empire's beauty! It's a no brainer!

The views of NYC are picture perfect from Top Of The Rock. The other impressive thing was seeing Central Park laid out - that bit of green is just wonderful and gorgeous to see.

TOTR is an absolute must. Essential when you're in the Big Apple. Book your tickets online and jump the line on the day. Also worth mentioning that it was raining on the original day we booked so we simply went to the Rockefeller in advance and asked them to change the ticket to an earlier day when it was sunny. They did that with no problem whatsoever. Memorable!

“best views in New York”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Fabulous views of The Empire State Building, Central Park, and downtown Manhattan. Don't bother to arrive early as they are very officious at preventjng you from waiting near the entrance. If early you will be told to leave the area and come back at the appropriate time. Book ahead online.
