You can't beat the open-air sights from the Rock'.

$17 is a bit steep, but most any vacationer will find it very agreeable versus the other sights and attractions in NYC. Grab a good camera, head up the 60-flight elevator and enjoy.

TIP: If you must choose between this and the Empire State Building observatory, pick the Rock. Don't let the "taller" element of the ESB sway you, the Rock is in a better location and has open-air sightlines that are just simply a better experience. There's also more room to wiggle around other patrons.

Whether you're looking towards Jersey and the Hudson, Brooklyn and the East River, Uptown with Central Park, or downtown with the ESB and One World Trade Center, the "central" location of the Rock' make it crucial for first-time visitors of NYC and photographers alike.

A great way to see the entire city. A must experience for a first-timer to NYC. US$27 per person admission for just getting access to the observations decks. Lots of extras to be purchased for those inclined to do/see more. Be forewarned that there are lots of line-ups and waits to get into the elevators both at the beginning and end, and of course, at the airport like security screening point.

This is the best view in NYC. Way better than the Empire State Building. Rockefeller Center has always been one of the best things going on in NYC. It can accommodate the crowds and the line was quick. The staff are outstanding and very friendly and upbeat. The spaciousness of the building lets you see the skyline without feeling cramped or crowded. There were crowds and crowds of people in NYC last week when I was there but this place has it down on how to get you to the top and out in a reasonable amount of time. Don't miss it!

I have been to the top of the Empire State Building, and I have to say that the Top of the Rock is a much better experience. Being able to see the ESB and the rest of NY from up high was really nice. The overall experience was a good one. From the lounge area to sit inside, to the spacious outdoor decks for viewing, I never felt crowded. Multiple levels for viewing too, which was pretty awesome. Loved the experience, would definitely go again!

We went here on our first day of our honeymoon in nyc. It was amazing. From the fancy entrance to the funky lift/elevator to get up, then the 3 levels at the top. The views are amazing. I didn't want to go down
