Stayed in hotel for 3 nights. Overall hotel was clean and quiet (In comparison to other hotels we have stayed in in NewYork) and the staff were helpful. Hotel was centrally located within easy walk of Times Square and major attractions. Tea and coffee were free in the lobby and there was a wide choice for breakfast from cooked sausages, eggs and pancakes to yogurts, cereal, toast, cake, waffles and fruit. Free Wifi was useful. Would stay here again.

We checked in around 2:00am because our flight had been delayed and were given room 102. This hotel has two rooms on the first floor that are adjacent to the elevators, laundry room and lobby. We were so tired that we went straight to sleep and didn't realize we were not going to sleep for long. At around 5:45 am employees and guest alike started coming down to the lobby area and making all kinds of noise. Breakfast started at 6:00am and we could hear chatter, the hallway door swing open and shut, employees making noise in the laundry room. It was a nightmare!!!! We felt as we were trying to get some sleep in the middle of the lobby. The second night we told them that if we didn't get moved, we were checking out. They complied rather quickly and politely because they knew those two rooms on the ground floor shouldn't be rooms at all; but rather part of the common areas.

Selected Holiday Inn Express based on proximity to Times Square. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk or less to Times Square and Rockefeller Square. Many restaurants around to chose from. Just by my hotel alone there was a Chinese restaurant, Italian restaurant and British pub. The room was small but enough space for 2 people there was a desk and chair and also another chair in the room. When you walk in the hotel room the bathroom door is right there. Business center was on lower level in basement..vending machines also. Ice machines were on about 3 floors. I was on the 8th floor went down to 5th floor for ice. Overall nice hotel..would book again. Never made it to the free breakfast but they had juices, pastries, pancake machine, eggs etc.

There are a few mixed reviews of this hotel but we have found the hotel more than adequate for our stay. We stayed in a queen room for 5 nights. Breakfast was included in the price which was good. The rooms were clean and staff very helpful. The location is excellent. The only negative we found was the breakfast area is not big enough for the amount of guests. At busy times people were cramped, although they are happy for you to take it to your room which we done on one occasion.

This little hotel offers great value for the money. Lots of little extras at no additional cost: free wifi in room, free hot breakfast, free (fast) bag check, great service. Staff were happy to put my leftovers in a fridge overnight and helped me with the television. Basically, they were happy to help with anything I needed.

The rooms are exactly as shown in the photos: small, but not unusual by New York standards. The bed was very comfortable and the room extremely quiet. Others commented on long waits for the elevators; I had no difficulty with this. The breakfast offered lots of choices.

Finally, the location on 45th just west of 5th ave is ideal. Don't miss Bryant Park on 42nd - it's a wonderful place to have a morning bagel and latte (plus free wifi).
