“Excellent Seven Day Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

We were in New York City for seven days and couldn't have picked a better hotel for the entire stay. It is perfectly located within walking distance to the major attractions and excellent restaurants.

The room had a kitchenette with a full sized fridge, king bed and sofa-bed, as well as a roomy bathroom. It was just right for the three of us, and there was even sufficient space to accommodate my daughter's friend who joined us for a few nights sharing the sofa-bed with her. We were treated with a great view of the Empire State Building from our 15th floor room window, and pleasantly surprised how quiet the room was.

The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've ever encountered at hotels. The hot meals of scrambled eggs, back bacon, grilled potatoes, oatmeal, were freshly cooked and plentiful. That was supplemented with an excellent variety of fruits, breads, yogurt, and other breakfast choices.
The staff, from the front desk to the breakfast crew to the housekeepers, were warm, friendly and went out of their way many times to help and serve us.

We paid for our stay with our Marriott reward points, so the cost for the room did not factor into our decision to stay there. That aside, we would definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Empire State Building. The higher up, the better the view.

Hello Cannukguy,

Thank you for your wonderful review about my hotel for potential visitors. I am happy to hear that the week you were here you got to enjoy the breakfast buffet. You don’t get to try everything out in a weekend because there are too many choices. I am happy that you feel rewarded with this great hotel by using your Marriott Rewards points for your stay. We hope to see you again soon!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Its smack dab in Times Square and New York City's Broadway theatre district. You can walk right outside, turn any corner and run into a Broadway show. Work out in their upstairs gym and you'll be dazzled by Times Square's billboards. The rooms are boutiquish, but that's fine since I've stayed here twice with a friend. There's a Starbuck's adjacent to the lobby so that was great as well. Check-in is fast so that's a plus after the ride from the airport.

Hello Cocobuttr72,

Thank you for your positive review about my hotel. I have to agree with you about the fantastic location that my hotel is in. The Starbucks in the lobby is a great amenity to have for a quick coffee on your way out. We hope to see you again soon!

This past week i stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my sister and 3 small kids. The staff (especially Tito) was very nice and helpful. The room was big...had a fridge....and you can't beat the free hot breakfast in the morning. And the location was perfect. Easy to get around. Will definitely stay here again.

Hello Anne Marie B,

It is great to hear you had a wonderful stay with us. I will pass along your kind words to Tito who helped you at check-in. Traveling with a family can be tough but seems with the large rooms we have to offer it made your stay a little easier. Thank you for your kind review.

I was so very pleased with the hotel, room, staff, area!!!! Stayed on the 25th floor with a view of the Empire State Building.

From check-in to check-out was THE perfect place to stay. Room was quite large with a king bed, sofa, kitchen...was perfect. Very clean property and easy walking distance to Times Square. Also, a full buffet breakfast was included. Third floor has a great little piano bar, billiards, library and computer stations.

Staff was extremely helpful and VERY NICE and FUN!! Mentioned it was a birthday week for my daughter and when we returned to our room one evening the staff had put balloons, fresh baked cookies and Haagen Dazs ice cream on our breakfast bar.

Would definitely stay at this property again!!

Location, location, location! This place is walking distance to everything (even with a 7 year old): Times Square, Macy's, Empire State, Central Park with the added bonus of Bryant Park a stone throw away!! We were there on Easter weekend which is probably the busiest weekend after the New Year's so the place (NYC that is) was swarming with people and that made for packed hotels. When we checked-in, we were not told that the hotel was overbooked so we ended up with a one bed + sofa bed room when we had reserved a 2 bed room, since we were travelling with a 7 and 14 year old. Obviously, the room was not what we had paid and asked for so after a bit of discussion at the front desk, we were granted a 100$ per night discount which was quite appreciated. Other that the fact that the room was on the small side for our needs, it was clean and we had a great view of the Empire State building as we were located on the 27th. The breakfast buffet had many choices, nothing to complain about there. All in all, a place i would return to on my next visit to NYC!

Hello soleil_0402,

I am happy to hear you choose to spend your Easter weekend with us! And while the city is extremely busy at that time it seems that you and your family got to enjoy the great location and get a lot done! I apologize for the room type mix up at check-in. I am happy it worked out for the better, and got to enjoy a room with a great view! We hope to see you again next year for Easter!

I was underwhelmed when I arrived in the foyer, it was small and very busy with limited seating and I could not check in until 4pm. I was not feeling the love as was tired and grubby. But I rallied and had a very busy day out and about in NYC, walking here, there and everywhere. I was tired so had an early dinner and decided to head back to the hotel at 7. I got a bit lost but found it and got my bag out of storage, hopped in the lift and found my room. It was not a room, it was a suite!!!! Huge lounge area, kitchen with full kitchen facilities, massive bed, massive tv that rotated so you could watch it from the sofa or the bed. there was a big bathroom with a bath and a shower. I did a little dance of joy for quite a long time, after all there was lots of room to dance about in. All this for $100 a night including breakfast! I slept like a log, the black out curtains worked a treat and the noise level was minimal.
Breakfast was on the third floor in a large shared area, it was organised much like an old style gentleman's club with a a variety of seating options and nooks and crannys and books and things around. Newspapers were provided and masses of food. Cooked options, cereals, fruit, toast, bagels, yog and more. I could not decide between eggs benedict or pancakes... so had both!!!!!!
I could not fault the room or the breakfast! The location was so handy. It was the perfect spot for a solo traveler to feel safe and be central.

This place was pretty fantastic!
Location was great - very close to a couple subway stations (Bryant park and Times Square), plenty of places to eat nearby, a few minutes walk from Times Square, off a main road so easy access to nonstop taxis.

The hotel staff were friendly and quick to respond. We asked for an extra comforter (my son didn't like the blanket that was provided for sleeping on the sofa-bed) and we were told they would see if they had one and bring it up if possible. We laughed and said there was no way we would hear back from them, but they showed up at our door within a few minutes with the comforter he requested! We needed an extra towel and they showed up in less than a minute with two and asked us if we need anything else.

Even though it was near Times Square and on a main road - it was SO QUIET!!! It was such a great surprise. I didn't wake up once!

The breakfast in the morning was pretty basic, but a really great addition to our trip. The room gets pretty crowded quickly so you might have to have someone stalking the room for a table while you get your food.

Apples at the front desk are really welcomed - my son grabbed one every morning on our way out (which he never does at home!).

The elevators are REALLY SLOW. If you're in a hurry to leave, make sure to plan to need up to 10 minutes to get the elevator.
