A decent choice if you're hungry by the Penn Station (my local/NYC friend suggested). I got here at noon on a Sunday, there was about a 25 minute wait for a table. The service was prompt and good. The restaurant was hip in a rustic yet modern design. I got a good impression this is clean and well run restaurant. Thumb up.

We stopped off at Friedmans for brunch a couple of times.. The food was delicious, I had the pastrami sandwhich on both visits washed down, on both occasions with their take on a bloody mary, which is made with sake rather than vodka.. It was lovely and very refreshing!

My wife was also taken great care of with their gluten free options.

Excellent service, great food and drink.. Top marks! Highly recommended.

We needed breakfast on the way to Penn Station and chose Friedman's on the basis of TA reviews. Overall it was a disappointment. The egg platters were straightforward but arrived at the table barely lukewarm (cold hash browns--not good). The house-made chicken sausage recommended by the waitress tasted like it had a whole jar of dried sage dumped into it. The coffee was on the bitter side. For close to $18 a person, we expected a better breakfast.

I ate here one morning for breakfast, ordering the gluten free egg scramble with toast. The food was delicious. It's so great when gluten free tastes this good. The restaurant was easy to get to, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and the menu clearly designates what can be made gluten free. And it seemed as if most of the items on the menu could be made gluten free. Wish I had had the opportunity to visit for lunch on my visit. I certainly will next time!
